Me & My Muse – Day 600B: Bad Seed

I nervously glanced at my Muse as she began her intense series of flashes. As this was going on, my Muse began to smile. Her widening smile became a laugh, and then a series of laughs, as if something were tickling her. Tee hee hee hee hee hee…

Her flashes continued and her laughter continued. She began to shrink and was getting younger. Years and years melted off of her body. Her body shrank until it was the size of a five-year old.

My Muse awoke, with the same smile that she had when I was sleeping. What could this Muse be? A child Muse? A younger Muse? Then I heard her say the words that made me change my mind: “I’m back! Tee hee!”

What?! It can’t be! The next form of my Muse was the Dark Muse? This is going to be a long 100 days…

“I’m back. Tee hee!” she repeated. “I’m home!”

I scowled. “I know that you’re back. What are you doing here?!”

She jabbed me in the arm. “Visiting my house. What else?”

“YOUR house?!” I shouted. “You already have your own body, you little brat! Leave her alone!”

“No!” she shouted. “It’s my home and I’m never gonna leave it! Tee hee!”

Just as I was about to strangle her, she suddenly fell asleep, her body plopping back onto the bed.

And to my surprise, she started flashing again. The flashes started bright and then grew darker. Her smile vanished when fear devoured it. Becoming more and more fearful, her fear disappeared and a new smile appeared. This time, it was the smile of a maniac. She grew and grew until she was back to her normal age.

After that, the flashing continued and her form changed. She grew larger, and began hissing and growling. Scared by these growls, I glanced away, watching a shadowed silhouette change shape before my very eyes.

“RAWR!!!!” she bellowed. The sound and echo was so loud that I covered my ears.

To my horror, I looked back. The series of dark flashes continued. Her beastly form continued to take shape, becoming more and more twisted by the second. She was covered in flashing scales, wild hair in various different directions and a pair of flashing claws.

“RAWR…” she growled again, bearing her jagged fangs. She was not the Muse that I remembered, but a terrible monstrosity.

Finally, the flashing stopped, and she approached me.

“COME OVER HERE…” she snarled in a deep guttural voice.

I reeled back in fear. “No!” I panicked. “Get away from me!”

I started to run, but my beastly Muse, who was more than four times my size, began running on all fours and quickly overtook me.

“NOW…” she gleefully hissed. “I WILL EAT YOU!!!”

Being cornered by her, I was afraid to move. Despite this, I started to run, but was pinned down by her claws.

Dangling from her claw, my arm started to drip with blood. She lifted me up, closer and closer to her mouth. She threw me up, releasing her grip. And then…

And then…I was alive? For some reason I was, but I was not in the Tower of Muses anymore. It was like I blacked out and woke up elsewhere. Could it be Remedy?

I looked at my arm, which was bleeding when she grabbed me. To my surprise, there was not a single trace of blood anywhere. No claw marks, either.

Then I remembered what just happened, and I started to cry. My Muse has transformed into a beast. A sinister beast. A totally evil beast. I remembered the look on her face before she almost ate me. It was a putrid smile. A smile that only a sick and twisted person would make.

If this is what my Muse is going to do for the next 100 days, then I’m done. I am not dealing with an evil Muse. I have dealt with a bad idea, a spoiled brat, a shy bashful Muse, a Christian Muse and a fairy. I will not deal with an evil one.

But am I really going to end it here? I can’t. If the show must go on, then bring it on. Let the next 100 days of torture begin…

Me & My Muse – Day 600: Tower of Muses: The Sixth Ascent

Once again, we have arrived at another milestone.   A mandatory and objective milestone that will unfortunately and undoubtedly beyond certainty include an almost identical post from Day 500.  I don’t know about you, but with it being a day that I have off, the LAST thing I want to do is spend the next 3-5 hours constructing a profoundly monumental and redundant display of my writing prowess.

I am sure that you are all aware of how things will transpire.  (Another exciting redundancy as usual, but it’s still me from last time!  The very same me from the 500th entry!  You don’t believe me, do you?  Well, go back and read the 500th entry and then go and tell me who’s lying.  And while we’re on redundancies, how much longer is he going to recycle this piece of rubbish?  I’m all about saving the environment, but recycling this for the fifth time in a row?  This is getting ridiculous!  There hasn’t been anything original since entry 100!  Oh well.  I need to acknowledge his busy life, as I am quite busy myself, re-narrating this over-narrated narration… For now, we will continue with this cheaply contrived recycled piece of milestone rubbish, rife with wit, dry humor, satire and sarcasm.)  I will leave an introspective entry and then shift my point of view to first person. (Blah blah blah.  Redundant again!  How many more times are you going to recycle this?  Wait!  I’ve said that already!  I should’ve included a redundancy warning!  Oh well!  Maybe next time…)  I would then provide a predictable reaction from my Muse’s intended absence.

In a sheer attempt at humor, I redundantly acknowledge the composition of this entry.  How I talk about this being another milestone, and that this is just a cheap reconstruction of an entry made 100 days ago.  (Not quite.  I removed the old content and included a note to the reader to  reread the 500th entry which would provide a basis of proof that I am the same narrator that narrated 100 days ago.)  How original!  You would have to be exhausted to pull off something like that! How I (am?) (Don’t want to reuse a draft with a grammatical mistake now, do we?) aware of how things will transpire.  How I would leave an introspective… (There.  Ellipses have three dots, not four.) wait!  This is getting too redundant, and is on the brink of being extremely absurd and ridiculous.  Is it too late to start over?  (Genius!  Considering that you already typed the first two paragraphs, I would just delete them.  Just be sure to save my interjections.  They’re pure gold, I tell you!  Nevermind…You kept them…) With that, we will press on.

Blah blah blah…Long profound… (Two more ellipses successfully corrected!  Aren’t we good at proofreading and narrating!) wait!  This is redundant!  Wasn’t this mentioned in day 500?  We know what happens next already.  The overdone exposition about the Muse and why she is not here, approaching the tower (Yes. This tower is different from the one that you saw in Day 500.  It always is!  It’s different every 100 posts!) Let’s avoid the redundancy about being redundant, shall we?

But, breaking away from the overly astute sarcastic narrations that get more and more repetitive and redundant with the passing of each 100th post, I notice that this tower is….different.  Yes.  The tower is a little bit taller (About 100 stories taller, to be exact!  My are we smart!), but just to be sure.  We will have a look inside and see….

Time to recycle some text from my previous entry, with some subtle edits to make it resemble something slightly different, with the attempt of sounding original and new, since these milestone posts would be boring without that.  (I’m all for originality!  Let’s be brave!  Let’s make something slightly different so that no one will ever notice!)

After standing there for a while, I finally entered through the door.  Sure enough, the same field was there (Same field?  We should really change the scenery a little bit.  Maybe in a later one, perhaps?  But this is entry 600!  Maybe we’ll wait until 1000…).  I was surrounded by the same lush greenery as before. (The greenery was so green that Kyle started getting a headache from the overwhelming greenness.  So green that all the environmental groups gave this very post their highest award for the amazing greenery and clean air that they could smell when they closed their eyes, trying to imagine a world very much like the greenery in this post.)  Green clovers and wildflowers.  Pink and red roses.  Orange lilies.  Purple daisies.  Pink tulips.  A sea of (sea-of?  My are we the master wordsmith!  It’s a good thing that I changed it.  You can thank me later.) color.  Nothing was different from what I experienced 100 days ago.  (Except for everything else in this entry that I changed so far.  My, am I on a roll today!)

The colorful flowering sea led to a rather tall structure that sat far in the distance.  A tall structure that looked even taller than before.  Again, this was getting too predictable, having already experienced this before.  And quite redundant.  Every 100 entries, the tower’s a little bigger.  We get it.

The tower looked like an ornately decorated office building – for women.  The pink and white accents ran up and down the gold-adorned structure.  The diamond-studded glass had a pink tint to it.  (Oh please!  The designer can only think of the ladies, can’t she?  Well, I never!)

“A pink office building,” I said to myself.  “Can’t my Muse be any more original?”

Let’s cut to the chase, and find out if this tower really is different.

I got attention of the same receptionist who sat there, typing 100 days back.

“So, is this the same Tower of Muses as before?” I asked her, just to make sure.  (Oh, come on!  You ask her that every single time!  Shouldn’t you know the answer already?)

My Muse shook her head again and smiled.  “No, silly!  This tower is a little different.  And there’s a teleporter thingy that will take you to the 501st floor!”

I nodded, with a slight grin on my face.  And this was mainly due to the deja vu.  “And this floor is still…”  (It’s three dots for an ellipses!  How many times do we have to make these deletions?)

“Floor 1,” she recited.  “ExperiMENTAL.  Tee hee…”  (Not four.  THREE!)

And of course the Dark Muse, which was then a bad idea, was just beginning to affect my Muse at this time… (*sigh*) ”Thank you,” I told her, proceeding forward to the mysterious portal that sat past the white service desk just before the elevators.

Upon entering the portal, she was right.  I entered a new room, which resembled a different lobby.  But this lobby had no exit, since this was the 501st floor.

Approaching a service desk decorated with pinks, purples and bright sparkling glitter, I squinted my eyes and noticed a different Muse sitting there.  A really small Muse.  One with fairy wings and only three inches tall.  But she wasn’t typing.  In fact, she looked up right after I got to this floor.  It was only a split second that I saw her typing…

“Greetings, Kyle.” she announced.  “You are on the “Fairy, Fairy Quite Contrary” floor.  This floor is one of my favorites, since it captures my true fairy form, 99 days ago…A Muse that has yet to become reborn as a real fairy.  Tee hee!”

I nodded, and looked at the elevators that were past her desk.  “I would like to go to floor 600 now.”

At this, my Muse sighed.  “Don’t go there yet!  Go to the others first!  Tee hee!”

I advanced further to the elevators.  I then sighed, and quite deliberately broke the fourth wall.   The overly redundant redundancies have reached their limit for this post!  Would you really want me to actually pick 6 to 8 random floors and stop on them?  Sorry.  It’s not going to happen this time, either.  If you really wish to hear my discussion on the floors, you can visit any one of them by clicking on the links near the bottom of this post.  Okay.  If we don’t visit them, perhaps we should do this instead.  I will briefly recap some of my favorite floors, after I have taken a few minutes to determine what they are.

There.  After several minutes of reviewing all 99 entries, thinking and making a much needed edit over the older text,  I have my list.  It’s right here!  I have it on my lap.  Let’s see….I will put this in list form so that it will be easier for you to read.  My favorite floors are:

Floor 501 – Fairy, Fairy Quite Contrary

This is the beginning of what I consider to be my favorite story arcs.  A mysterious book.  A magical fairy with fairy secrets.  This must-read will grant all of your wishes.

Floor 515 – Christmas Shopping – Part I

While this talks about Christmas shopping, there is something else that stands out.  More of the story arc is unveiled as Kyle has the fairy Muse all figured out.  The plot thickens, so please read it now.

Floor 518 – Starting Late

A Muse is reborn into a real fairy.  Is Kyle too late?  Another riveting creative journal entry that will have you enchanted.

Floor 524 – 50 Years of Rudolph

In this one, I acknowledge the 50 year anniversary of the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer TV special.  A good reflective piece and a good read indeed.

Floor 536 – Christmas Aftermath

Just a little update on what I did on Christmas.  It was a fun Christmas indeed and very merry.  Another good read.

Floor 549 – A Break at Last…

The Dark Muse is back!  But what trouble does she cause this time?  Read this one and find out.

Floor 556 – Fish out of Water

This is a good segway from the entry that I wrote the previous day.  A hectic day with something “fishy” going on.  A delicious read best experienced with tartar sauce.

Floor 558– Do You Want to Build A Snowman?

At long last, I satisfy my childhood longing to build a snowman.  The Dark Fairy Muse builds one too, but in a different way.  Bundle up and read this.  It’s really cold outside.

Floor 561 – Breakfast for Dinner

In this one, traditional dinner is abandoned in favor of the most important meal of the day: breakfast.  Pour a glass of orange juice and read this.  And as a suggestion, this entry tastes best sunny side up.

Floor 562 – Chilly Wednesday

On a cold Wednesday, I “freeze” a story arc by using my Director’s Privileges.  This allows a behind the scenes view of Me & My Muse.  Hilarity ensues.  A good read, whether you’re on or off the set.

Floor 571 – Mandatory Propaganda

What happens when you score some tickets to a Weird Al Yankovic Concert?  You compose a humorous entry portraying a communist propaganda message, that’s what!  You will read this entry and you will have fun.  You will call this entry clever and will revere the Honorable Chairman Al.

Floor 576 – An Airplane

A fresh and clever piece about the newest Miyazaki movie.  Take flight.  Take to the skies and read this entry.  And thank you for choosing Walker Estate airlines.

Floor 582 – A Free Day…

The Dark Fairy Muse becomes a real fairy at last.  Kyle mourns the loss of his Muse.  But how does Kyle cope?  Read this touching entry and find out.  (And you have just been tricked.  Never trust a fairy…Tee hee!)

Floor 590 – Bacon-Wrapped Goodness…

What have I started?  Something absolutely delicious, of course!  In this one, I talk about the latest product that you can buy at my work:  The Bacon-Wrapped Crust DEEP! DEEP! Dish pizza.  This entry has plenty of bacon and it is all good.  Read it, ask for seconds and read it again.  There’s plenty to go around.

Floor 591 – BRRR!!!!

In this one, I talk about could possibly be the coldest day ever.  And I’m not exaggerating.  When the high for today is below zero, you know that you’re dealing with the extreme cold.  Bundle up really good when you read this.  Build a fire and drink some hot chocolate.  This entry is COLD…

Floor 592 – Peanut Buttery Chocolatey Goodness

Where’s the fun in talking about a 9 hour closing shift that ends at midnight?  I avoid discussion of this altogether by focusing on a very delicious dessert:  A king-sized Reese’s Big Cup.  That’s a lot of chocolate and a lot of peanut butter in this one.  Savor it and read it, one word at a time.

Floor 594 – Go Hang a Salami! I’m a Lasagna Hog!

Why did I even include this one?  It has to be the attention-grabbing palindrome.  That’s about it.  Read it and see for yourself.

Wow!  It looks like I had lot more favorites than what I thought.   I included a little more than last time!  Maybe I should’ve narrowed the list.  But it’s too late now.  Onward to the 600th floor…

My Muse, having heard the whole conversation, grinned.

“It’s amazing how much you know about those floors!” she told me.  “Especially since you haven’t even visited them…tee hee!”

“Oh, I don’t need to…” I told her.  “I lived them!”

To that, she responded with a timid nod, and I proceeded to the elevators.  I then pressed the up button a few times.  Where are the elevators?  With this many, I would think that at least one would be ready for me! A few seconds later, I entered the first elevator door that opened.  It just happened to be the one next to me.

I entered the elevator and pressed the 600 button.  Moments later, the doors closed.

Several moments passed.  At this point, Kyle decided to be a little more unoriginal and once again reused some material from the previous milestone entry.  Perhaps he’ll make it a little different so that they’ll never notice.  Just enough changes to throw off the audience.  How lazy of him!  Can’t he get his brain thinking of any more original ideas?  But Kyle would have none of that.  He is just as determined to bring this sixth milestone post to an abrupt end.  The good old recycled zinger.  They’ll never notice!  Unless the narrator reminds them

Finally, moments later, the elevator arrived at the 600th floor.

Like the 500th floor before it,  this floor was an enormous room, lavishly decorated.  A desk sat in one corner and a king-sized bed sat in the other.  Pretty much the same room as the 500th story, the 400th story, the 300th story, the 200th story and the 100th story before it, only the room was the same size as the 500th story, 400th story and 300th story and the bed was light blue.

Oh!  We agreed not to meddle with the following paragraph!  As much as we want to, we can’t.  It just wouldn’t be right….

And on the bed laid my Muse.  She was fast asleep, with a note attached to her.  It didn’t surprise me that she was sleeping, considering that creating this tower probably took so much out of her.  Now I’m going to guess that the note will mention that the computer in this room will have this entry already typed.    That even includes the later parts that you haven’t seen yet!  Am I right?  And this further adds to the redundancies that exist in this post already!

Attached to her hand was a note.  And this is what it said:

To my master,

I made this tower for you and me.  This is to honor your hard work and dedication for another 100 days of hardship, bringing the total up to 600.  Thank you for your dedication to keeping this project going daily.  If you look at your computer, the last entry is already written.  I am still forever grateful to your kindness, your dedication to saving me and your gratitude.

Love,

Your Muse

I then looked next to the bed and noticed a directory which was much like the 500th floor, the 400th floor, the 300th floor, the 200th floor and 100th floor before it.  However, this was the directory for the Tower of Muses, only it covered only the next 100 floors.  I looked at the directory.

The high today is going to be 24 degrees and the silver lining is having this 600th post made.

To all of you who have ever completed a major milestone, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Just like entry 500, she’s right!  The entire entry is typed!  And there’s that message at the end!  Aw…..How thoughtful.  I don’t understand how a narrator got into my post.  Oh well…

Now I’ll….What’s going on?  Just like before!  It’s happening once again!  On the bed!  My Muse is flashing…

Me & My Muse – Day 599: So Glad it’s Friday…

I’m going to cut this short, since I’m not in a very good mood right now.  As for the reason, I am not at liberty to tell you what that is.  Let’s just say that there are personal issues in my life that I am not going to disclose publicly.

Today’s high is going to be 21 degrees and the silver lining is my friend coming over later tonight.

To those of you who are having a better Friday than I am, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Oh, that’s too bad!  I know why you’re upset!  I hope that you get through it okay.  Tee hee…

Me & My Muse – Day 598: Working on the Network…

That pretty much sums up what I did today.  I met with someone in my network and got some more leads.

The rest of today will consist of housekeeping.  Anything else that needs to get done will be worked on.  I will also do some more reading.  That is pretty much this day in a nutshell.

Today’s high is going to be 13 degrees and the silver lining was being able to get some more networking done.

To those of you who like networking, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Another short post!  It’s the build up…to 600…tee hee…

Me & My Muse – Day 597: Pizza State of Emergency

It’s basically a dramatic way of saying “being called in to work”.  Having answered that call of duty, I went in at noon and diffused the logistical chaos.  Catch up morning dough? Check.  Put away flour and pizza sauce boxes? Check.   Make a full rack of larges and a rack of crazy breads to give 4:00 crew a head start and prevent a deep dish shortage?  Check.  Make five batches of deep dish dough and train a new person on how to make it?  Check, check and check.

And with almost seven hours put in today, it was all in a days work.  I have watched Survivor and I’m more than ready to recharge for tomorrow.

Today’s high is going to be 15 degrees and the silver lining was getting some hours at work.

To those of you who like getting some extra pay, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Extra pay?  Fantastic day?  That rhymed!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 596: Rejuvenation Day

How do we begin Rejuvenation Day aright?  By making a really short entry.  That’s how!  Today is just a day of catching up, looking, for more leads and networking that can potentially lead to interviews.

Muse:  That, and you have that 600th entry to work on…Tee hee!

Yeah.  Milestone posts usually take a lot of work.  But I need to get started.

Today’s high is going to be 24 degrees and the silver lining is having this day off.

To those of you who like having days off to rejuvenate, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Enjoy your day off.  May it give you the energy you need for tomorrow…Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 595: The End is Full of Light…

After another 5 hour dough shift at Little Caesars, I’ll have a day off to rejuvenate.  A productive day.  A day to network.  A day to get things done.  And to keep things brief, that is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today’s high is going to be 12 degrees and the silver lining is seeing that light at the end of the tunnel.

To those of you who see that reward at the end, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  I see another end.  And it’s the end of this series of 100!  It will also be the end of me being a fairy!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 594: Go Hang a Salami! I’m a Lasagna Hog!

Read it forwards and backwards.  It says exactly the same thing.

To sum up today, I went to church, worked a 2 to 7 dough shift at Little Caesars and had some lasagna for dinner.  But contrary to the palindrome, not a ton.  That’s the gist for today.  This one is shorter, since I’m starting to get tired.

Today’s high is going to be 17 degrees and the silver lining is having some delicious lasagna for dinner.

To those of you who love lasagna, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  But no salami for dinner, right?  Just lasagna.  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 593: Cereal State of Emergency

When you’re down to your last box of cereal, it is official.  Red alert has sounded.  It is time to buy some more cereal.

Keeping this short today, I will be working a 2-7 dough shift at Little Caesars.  I will be making a lot of dough, considering how many deep dishes were sold yesterday.  After that, I will be cereal shopping with my brother.  We share the same shift, so we’ll be shopping after work.

Today’s high is going to be 26 degrees and the silver lining is buying some more cereal.

To those of you who like buying new cereal, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Low on cereal?  I seem to never have that problem around here.  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 592: Peanut Buttery Chocolatey Goodness…

I could say that I started the morning early with cleaning the oven at work.  I could say that I work a longish 9 hour closing shift at Little Caesars, starting at 3 and ending at midnight, but where would the fun in that be?

Let’s look at the prize.  The fun and delicious prize waiting for me during dinner time.  When I take my dinner at work, a delicious dessert is waiting for me.  A yummy Reese’s Big Cup.  A delicious and savory pile of peanut butter encased in a chocolately cup.  It is The Deliciousness.  It is The Awesomeness.  It is going directly into my mouth and into my stomach.

And from there, it gets better.  Because we’re not just talking one Reese’s Big Cup, but two.  With it being king-sized, it’s an upgrade.  It’s double the chocolatey pleasure.  Double the peanut buttery fun.  And with such a delicious prize waiting for me, it’s definitely worth the wait.  It’s definitely worth the nine hours.  My sweet sweet bundle of Peanut Buttery Chocolatey Goodness…

http://www.happycandy.se/images/Reese%27s_Big_Cups.jpg

Muse:  Um, are you okay?  You’re talking about a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!  Tee hee!

Not just any Reese’s Cup.  A Reese’s Big Cup

Muse:  Excuse me.  Big Cup!  As if bigger were better!  Tee hee!

It is.  It’s twice the Reese’s in each cup!

Muse:  But you make it sound like a love affair.  It’s food, not a person!  Tee hee!

So?  It’s for my sanity.  Should I focus on something that will bore me, tire me or make me frustrated?  I refuse to do such a thing.  I will look at the funnest aspect of this day.  A delightfully yummy king-size pack of Reese’s Big Cups!

Muse:  Well, if you put it that way…Enjoy your Reese’s Big Cups!  Tee hee!

I will, once that time comes, which seems like an eternity away…

Today’s high is going to be 14 degrees and the silver lining will be eating those two delicious Reese’s Big Cups later on.

To those of you who love Reese’s, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Urghh!!!  I can’t focus on this book!  I keep thinking of chocolate…I keep thinking of peanut butter…Oh!  Right now!  I must buy them right now!  Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, here I come!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 591: BRRR!!!!

Have you checked the thermometer lately?

Cold would not even be close to the conditions that we’re experiencing today.  It is beyond cold.  It is freezing, and it is dangerous to be outside right now.

To put things in perspective, the high today is negative.  Not even above 0!

Muse:  Brrr!

No.  That’s for single digit temperatures.  For today, you have to shout it:  BRRR!!!!

Muse:  Very well…BRRR!!! Tee hee!

That’s better.

Muse:  It is really cold outside.  Everyone.  Don’t go anywhere unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The high today is only the beginning.  Tonight, it’s going to get down to 18 below zero!  And that’s WITHOUT the wind chill!

Muse:  Then it better not be too windy!  Gasoline freezes at minus 40 degrees Celsius.

Which is also minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.  I hope that it doesn’t get that cold with the wind chill…

Muse:  I’m going back to my warm room.  Novel, here I come!  Tee hee!

For me, today is straightforward.  Be productive until five, since I have a Toastmasters business meeting at 6:00 and a club meeting at 6:30.

The high for today (which really isn’t a high at all) is going to be a brutally chilly -1 degrees and the silver lining is having the day off and staying warm.

To those of you who are staying warm indoors, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  It is SOOOOOO cold outside!  That’s why I never got out of bed today.  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 590: Bacon-Wrapped Goodness…

How do you make something that is already good even better?  Just add bacon.

http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/d812629cf279a0af2cc3a75ef014278f6fd04427/c=0-0-704-529&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/2015/02/17/USATODAY/USATODAY/635597918749441007-XXX-Little-Caesar-.JPG

And what happens when you add some strips of bacon to a Deep Dish at Little Caesars?  You get the new Bacon-Wrapped Crust DEEP! DEEP! Dish.  It’s not just your standard bacon bit topping.  But actual strips of bacon, wrapped around the crust and baked right into it.  It’s topped with pepperoni and bacon bits and it can be yours today.  How much?  It’s just $12.00.  But for that much bacon, it’s totally worth it.

When I see a promotion like this, I can’t help but think.  What took them so long?  I love bacon, as do many others.  This is pure bacon paradise, and I am salivating.  I will buy one and enjoy every piece of bacon-wrapped goodness that this pizza has to offer.  Bacon lovers,  unite!  Join me and get your bacon fix, while this product is still available.

Yes, it’s available only for a limited time.  As much as I want this good thing to last forever, it won’t.  Pick up one today.  Bite into it crust first and taste the bacon.  I will give you my verdict tomorrow after I have tried it tonight.

Muse:  That looks good.  Tee hee!

It is.  America has a love affair with bacon, and this is the answer.

Muse:  It is, huh?  I will have to try that.

You will not regret it.  The slices of bacon that we use are really good slices.  We’re not talking dinky slices here.

My ride arrives in an hour.  Time to land this.  I work a 2 to 7 dough shift at Little Caesars.  Chances are I will be making a lot of dough if we’re selling that product.  My friend will be over later.  That’s pretty much this day in a nutshell.

Today’s high is going to be 12 degrees and the silver lining is trying the new Bacon-Wrapped Crust Deep Dish.

To those of you who love bacon, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  What?!  They’re not selling it yet!  4:00?!  Hurry up clock!  Turn 4:00 so I can buy one!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 589: Mardi Gras and Meeting Tonight…

Once again, this entry’s going to be short.

Today is Mardi Gras and I have a Toastmasters meeting tonight.

As for my job, I need another one that will give me full time hours and more benefits.  With my situation right now, 25 hours a week is not enough.  And with a college degree to boot, I really need a job that can make considerably more.

Today’s high is going to be 18 degrees and the silver lining is enjoying the extra food today.

To those of you who love to pile away the calories on Fat Tuesday, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  I’m not sparing any calories today!  Time for another two paczki….

Me & My Muse – Day 588: A Brief Update…

With two hours remaining until I work, I will make this quick.

What does today look like?  I have a 2 to 7 dough shift at Little Caesars.  That’s pretty much it for today.

Today’s high is going to be 10 degrees and the silver lining is having time to reflect.

To those of you who like taking breaks, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  He has yet to finish that book.  I hope that he does soon!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 587: Singled Out…

I will have to admit.  Last night was pretty fun.  At Genji, me and my Muse each ordered two orders of sushi.  Of course, I got my usual, which was the Cupid Roll.  My other one was the Hot Jamaican Roll.  My Muse also got a Cupid Roll with a Spicy Tuna Roll.

Along with the Sushi, we each got a dinner.  Sparing no expense, I went all out.  I got the Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail.  She, of course, got the same thing.  The chef was pretty funny and quite enjoyable to listen to.  He made jokes about my Muse, which she found ridiculous.

After the dinner, I went to Meijer and got her a card and the biggest box of chocolate that I could find. Sure, it cost me $20, but she was worth it.  When I was done shopping, she took care of hers.  We then went home.

At home, we signed our cards and exchanged them.  I opened hers and she opened mine.  I then got out the big heart-shaped box of chocolates.  She, of course, had to outdo me with an even BIGGER box, with a bouquet of roses.

After that, we went to the bedroom, and we…..kissed.  That’s all we did.  The clothes remained on, as I vow to remain pure through my wedding day.  This includes fictional women.

Last night was fun.  Yes, it was a date.  But a purely fictional one.  If anything, a simulation of what I can expect in the future.  Getting to reality, I am single, and fortunately there is a day to celebrate that.  That day is today.  And to all you couples out there, you’re not invited.  For Single’s Awareness Day, it’s SINGLES only.  Not couples.  Your day was yesterday.  Sorry.

Muse:  Last night was fun, even though it was purely fictional.

It was quite enjoyable.  At least I wasn’t alone.

Muse:  And neither was I.  Besides.  I’m getting you ready for the real thing.  When “she” comes along, won’t you want to be ready?

Indeed I would.  There is no substitute for the real thing, except for you, of course.

Muse:  And I’m the perfect substitute.  One that is deeply in love with you.

But I am still single, since Intangibles don’t count.  Happy Single’s Awareness Day…

Muse:  Technically, they don’t.  I know.  Technically, I too am single, since I don’t have another Intangible to be with…But wasn’t last night fun?  We should go on  more dates…

Maybe another time.  But today, I need to get ready.  First, for church and then for work.

Muse:  I’ll let you do that.  Get ready, then!

I will.  But I need to end this, first.

Muse:  I’ll let you.  Time for a shower!

Here’s today in a nutshell.  I’m going to church for the later service at 10:45.  After that, I will be getting some Paczki at Meijer.  A little later, I work at Little Caesars from 2 to 7.  It shouldn’t be too long, since I have a dough shift today.

Today’s high is going be be 0 degrees and the silver lining is staying warm inside.

Muse:  0 degrees for a high?  That’s still very cold.  Tee hee!

I know that it is.  To those of you who are still single like me, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  I got to finish showering.  He did make one wish yesterday.  It was for me to be a normal Muse instead of a fairy.  Time to change back!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 586: Happy Hallmark Day…

Once again, it’s that time of year.  The day where romantic couples can celebrate the love that they have for each other.  And that celebration is reveled in reading mushy cards, chewing conversation hearts and chocolates and dining at an expensive restaurant.

Despite this holiday being based off of a priest named Saint Valentine, this is a greeting card day.  A cash cow for Hallmark and one of their most profitable days, besides Christmas.  If I am the Scrooge of Valentine’s Day, then bah humbug!

But this is not a day for a tirade, for I am not in any position to start dating.  For all you single ladies, I still live with my parents and I work part-time at a pizza place.  See how it doesn’t make any sense now?  Two things need to happen before I start dating.  I:

A.  Need to secure a full-time job with lots of opportunities for advancement

and

B.  Provide my own living arrangements, like my own apartment

I don’t know about you, but the last time I checked, living with your parents is not very classy at all.  Especially not for a charming young woman who finds out the truth about the guy that she’s seeing.  After one date, it would be over.

Yes, things are improving a little bit from last year.  I am now a manager with a little more responsibility.  I have joined a Christian dating site, and I have yet to see any success come out of that.  For now, it’s just another Valentine’s Day with the usual threesome:  Me, Myself and I.

Muse:  Would you be my Valentine?

That too.  That’s another cliché thing about this commercialized holiday.

Muse:  I know that it is, but would YOU be my Valentine?  All I need is a “yes” or a “no”.

*sigh* Yes.  I don’t know where you are going with this thing.  Is this going to be another date like last year?

Muse:  It is.  I really want a date and there is no one that I can find who is suitable.

What?!  ME date someone who is totally imaginary?  Are you out of your mind?  Granted, I really enjoyed it last year, but again?!

Muse:  Yes again.  I really enjoyed our date from last year and I would like to do this again.  Just think about it.  It would be better to date someone imaginary than no one at all.  After all, this day is quite lonely for those who can’t find dates….

You’re just trying to make me feel better.

Muse:  That, and I have already shared my undying affection for you.  Can we PLEASE go on a date?  Maybe this will persuade you.

*smooch*

Wow.  Okay.  I’m convinced.  Where to, Sadie Hawkins?

Muse:  We could go to Genji’s.  I love that place.

I do too, but it will be packed on a night like tonight.  And if we’re going, we need to make reservations NOW.

Muse:  Done!  I already have them set up for 6:30.

Also….oh no….

Muse:  What?

If you’re my Valentine, I didn’t get you anything for Valentine’s Day.  No card, roses or chocolates.  Nothing.

Muse:  That’s okay.  You can buy them after dinner.  I have my rose for you, but I still have to get the card.  We can go in separate rooms to sign them.

Sounds like a plan.  But this is a joke, right?

Muse:  It’s not.  I’m serious.  I WANT a date!  I am not sitting home alone on this day.  Can you please take me seriously?  This is a real date.

A real date with a fake person.  Okay.

Muse:  What was that?  At this point, I would be angry.  But I love you too much!

*smooch*

Whoa.  You kiss way better than any real person ever could.

Muse:  Trust me.  A real kiss from a real girl will be better than this.  But this will have to do for now….When are you picking me up?

Well, I don’t work today this year.  How about six o’ clock like last year?

Muse:  Six will work. I’ll be reading a romance novel in the meantime.  See you at six!

Well, that was interesting.  At least I won’t be alone later on.  Today will be great, since I have the day off.  A little later, I’ll be going on a “date” with my Muse.  I can’t believe that I just said that.  Granted, it will be weird, but it will keep my sanity intact.

Today’s high is going to be 14 degrees and the silver lining will be going on a date with my Muse.

To those of you lovebirds who are perfectly content with sharing your love with the world, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Oh, I’m so glad that he said yes!  I am determined to fill that void that he has in that lonely heart of his.  Time to put on the best clothes that I own and the best perfume!  His eyes will melt when he sees me next….Happy Valentine’s Day, Kyle!  I promise you that I will make it a good one.

Me & My Muse – Day 585: Movie Night

That’s what I’m calling this one.  It pretty much sums up what’s happening later today.

I already cleaned the oven this morning, got a car wash and filled some air on one of the back tires.  All that’s left is a 2 to 7 dough shift at Little Caesars.  I will then be seeing Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge out of Water.

And looking at today, I am not superstitious.  So if you are, there’s really no need.

Today’s high is going to be 22 degrees and the silver lining is seeing the Spongebob movie tonight.

To those of you who are either superstitious or like movies, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Spongebob has another movie out?  I guess I’ll have to check that out!  Oh, and I have all my lucky charms on so I don’t have to worry about today!  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 584: More Dough and a Friend Visit…

What’s on tap for today?  A 2 to 7 dough shift and a visit from my friend.

And due to time constraints, this one is going to be short today.

Muse:  Okay.  Tee hee!

Today’s high is going to be 8 degrees and the silver lining is my friend coming over tonight.

To those of you who like the company of your friends, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  If he doesn’t have anyone for Valentine’s Day, I have something special planned for him.  Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 583: A Close in the Middle of the Week

A closing shift, that is.  Today,  I work a 3 to close at Little Caesars.  Since my brother works from 2 to 7, it will actually be a 2 to close, so that I can make the ride logistics a little easier.

Muse:  Another closing shift?  Good luck.  Tee hee!

Thanks.  With it being a Wednesday, it should be busier.  I hope.

Muse:  I hope so, too.  It gets boring when it’s slow…Tee hee!

Anyway, I need to get ready.

Muse:   I’ll let you do that.  Second cup of coffee, here I come!  Tee hee!

Today’s high is going to be 34 degrees and the silver lining is getting a lot of hours today.

To those of you who like working longer hours at work, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Sooner or later, I hope that he gets into something better.  With a college degree like that, he should be able to make a lot more… Tee hee!

Me & My Muse – Day 582: A Free Day…

NOTE:  This post contains some creative writing elements.

In finally having a day off, I can put it to good use.  Among the things that I want to get done include calling Kelly Services and looking at various different government websites to look for work…

Muse:  I WISH…Tee hee!  It’s working!

What’s going on now?

Muse:  I can grant my own wishes! Tee hee! It’s so amazing!  I’m gonna be a real fairy!  Tee hee!

*Fairy Muse begins growing*

Muse:  I’m keeping it a surprise from mommy.  Oh, she will be so happy when I’m in her tummy.  Tee hee!

Oh no…

Muse:  Yes!  Tee hee!  It’s happening!  Tee hee!

*the fairy Muse flashes and disappears*

Fairy Mother: You’re too late.  My honey has prepared a wonderful surprise.  In just seconds, she is going to be reborn as a new fairy.

*Fairy Mother flashes, and a fairy Muse appears*

Fairy Mother:  What…?  Something is not right.

FLASH!

Yes!  I’m not a giant snowman anymore!  Thanks Remedy!

???:  Looking for this?

Fairy Mother:  You!  You took the pendant again!  That means that my daughter is not my flesh and blood.  She is still a stupid Muse transformed into a fairy!

Remedy:  Do you really think that I would let the rebirth process happen?  She may have sped up the process, but I’m still ahead of the game.

Muse:  Mommy!  What happened?

Fairy Mother:  That stupid man took the necklace of memories needed for the rebirth to happen.  You are not a real fairy…YET!  I’ll be taking that necklace.  Ha ha ha!

Remedy:  Nice try.  Do you think I would really let you have the REAL pendant?

Fairy Mother:  Hand me the real necklace now, or you are dead!  Fairies, apprehend him!

*a swarm of fairies approach Remedy*

Remedy:  Haven’t you learned anything from last time.  Fairies, BEGONE!

*Remedy blasts a powerful beam that vaporizes the swarm of fairies*

Fairy Mother:  My beautiful children!  You did it again!  You will surely pay for this!

Muse:  Mommy!  We need to get rid of the meanie!  I want that pretty pendant so I can be a real fairy!  Tee hee!

Remedy:  You mean this one?

*Remedy takes out pendant and destroys it with a powerful blast, freeing all the memories*

Remedy:  Now, who are you?

Muse:  Tee hee!  I am mommie’s…Get out!  This is my body!  You already have your own! Leave!

Muse:  Okay…

*Dark Muse exits Muse’s body*

Dark Muse:  I’ll be back home later.  Tee hee…

*Dark Muse vanishes in a beam of light*

Remedy:  Now.  Let’s get rid of this mother…

Fairy Mother:  Banishing me once was more than I could bear!  Please don’t banish me again!

Muse:  Where you are going, you will be a much better Fairy Mother.  The ideas that shaped you are not of love.  In my world inside me, you will be reformed, and will have a place to belong.  You will be kind, and not ruthless.  Now Remedy!  Before she further objects!

Fairy Mother:  Don’t!  Please!

*both Remedy and Muse blast a powerful beam at the Fairy Mother*

Fairy Mother:  NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!  My existence is fading…You will p…

*Fairy Mother flashes into a beam, which is absorbed by the Muse*

Muse:  There.  She is happy already in her remade form.  Kinder and a lot nicer…Tee hee!

Remedy:  Even better, the Dark Muse has fled.  She will be back, so we will have to be ready when she returns…

Muse:  Oh.  Don’t worry.  I will be on my guard.  Tee hee!

Remedy:  I see that you reverted back to your fairy form.  Are fairies really that ticklish?

Muse:  Oh, they are.  Sometimes, physical contact is not even necessary.  The very thoughts of people can tickle a fairy.  Tee hee!  Time to shrink.  I don’t know why she made me a giant.  Tee hee!

*Fairy Muse shrinks down to normal size*

Thanks again, Remedy for turning me back and saving my Muse once again.

Remedy:  Anytime, Kyle.  In a lot of ways, she is like my daughter, and I do everything I can to protect her…

*Muse hugs Remedy*

Muse:  Thank you again.  Now I have some memory sorting to do.  That Dark Muse has been in me for a while so I need to get reacquainted with this fairy body.  Tee hee!

I’ll let you do that.  Time to get going on the rest of the day.

Today’s high is going to be 24 degrees and the silver lining is having the day off.

To those of you who like having catch-up days, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  I missed these fairy wings!  I also missed being 3 inches tall! Tee hee…
