Me & My Muse – Day 343: A Few Random Thoughts

I have a few thoughts regarding my day so far…

The job search continues.  I couldn’t reach my counselor so I left her a voice message…

Emails, emails, emails.  Sent at least 10 emails to different members in Toastmasters.  Club coach pep talk, emails about tomorrow night’s meeting at the Midland Club, an email to the elect members of the District Trio about the critical status of the club that I’m coaching in Saginaw, and responses to said emails.  The post on the District’s Facebook page was encouraging.  I hope that some people take it to heart.

Work and waiting for work is an endless cycle.  I am in constant limbo between the two (more on this in another entry).  My life has no brakes.  I work every day. Ugh.  Make it stop…

Must find a full-time job.  Work is physically and mentally draining.  $7.50 an hour is not a livable wage, no matter how many hours you work.  My bus picks me up in 45 minutes.  Here we go again…

And my friend is coming over tonight.  Only day that could work in my schedule.  Period.  With two Toastmasters meetings this week and my friend leaving for the weekend, there are no other options.  Apparently, my life has no other options either…Menial work, friends, Toastmasters and writing if I have time.  But that’s life, right?

Ghost Muse:  Did I catch you at a bad time?

When is there ever a good time?  My life is always planned.  Work that is wearing me out, Toastmasters to better my employability, and a friend wanting whatever’s left.  I need to schedule time to even think!  I need to slow down before I have a nervous breakdown.

Ghost Muse:  Then slow down.  Breathe.  That helps.  Breathe deeply and close your eyes.  And pray.  It is never too much.  Trust me.

I trust you.  It’s time for lunch.

Ghost Muse:  You haven’t eaten?  I’ll let you.  Think of what I told you.  Breathe, close your eyes and pray.  Time for my novel…

Life is getting hard.  I need to make it softer.

Today’s high is going to be 87 degrees and the silver lining is my friend coming over tonight.  If you happen to be outside, enjoy the hot weather.

To those of you who have an overbooked life, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse: I’m going to visit him.  I might chicken out, but I need to try.  Why am I so shy?  *sigh*
