Me & My Muse – Day 4796: Day Five Burnout

Five days in a row.  Five days without a single day to rest.  When has work become so sacrilegious?

Sure, six days of work is fine.  But when you have seven days in a row without a single day of rest, you enter complete burnout.  Forget being able to be at your very best. When work-life balance is eroded, there is no life anymore.  Just work.  A soulless, lifeless existence of working yourself into complete exhaustion.

The madness continues today.  I’ll work and then come home.  And then I’ll work again tomorrow.  Do I get a day off?  No.

And yeah.  I’m already starting to feel it.  The fatigue.  The relentless pursuit of trying to enjoy myself before the next day.  It’s the in-between that makes the respite feel more like a delay before I work again.

Today’s high is going to be 82 degrees and the silver lining is having a nice dinner from my grandma later on.

To those of you who like finding solace in home cooked meals after work, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse: We need to give him some comfort food!  He’s going to work himself into complete burnout!

Twin Muse: I got the soup!  The bread!  The pasta!  The dessert!

Culinary Master:  Remember.  Balance is the most important part of perfecting cuisine.  Without it, everything falls apart.
