Me & My Muse – Day 467: False Alarm…

In regarding the cold that I recovered from yesterday, that was a false alarm.  The cold is still around and it has no signs of letting go.

The cold began its stealth invasion and by the time I was about three hours into my shift, I started feeling terrible.  The only symptom I experienced was the most annoying.  My throat was starting to get sore and it was getting harder to speak.

And to summarize the dinner rush last night, it really wasn’t all that pleasant.  I’ll spare you the details and leave it at that, as it was very hectic and annoying to work with a cold.

Last night, I took some Nyquil.  When I got up, I took some Dayquil.  I will continue this regimen until the nasty cold is gone and my voice returns.  Right now, my voice is squeaky and it sounds like a 12-year old going through puberty.  I can barely raise my voice so it’s annoying to even speak right now.

I will be visiting a friend later.  A friend that I haven’t seen in ages.  Besides my battle with the nasty cold, that is the gist for today.

Today’s high is going to be 48 degrees and the silver lining is having this day off.

To those of you who have to deal with annoying colds, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  I hope that you feel better soon.  I will be praying for you…

EDIT:  I am not visiting my friend tonight.  Considering that I still have the cold, I don’t want to get him sick, nor do I want to get his wife, baby or his parents sick.  This will have to be rescheduled for another date, which will hopefully be very soon.  I will make arrangements at work to have that day off.

In the meantime, I will be taking it easy, going to bed rather early since I want to be better for my 10 a.m. shift tomorrow…
