That’s the gist for today. With time running running out, I’m going to cut this entry short. I have a lawn to mow and a closing shift to work…
Muse: Wait.
What? Please be brief. I have a lawn to cut and less than three hours before I leave for work.
Muse: I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been praying for you. I know that you have a long day ahead of you, but take heart. God is with you.
Thanks. Now I need to get out there.
Muse: Just relax. Try to enjoy what the day is in spite of what today is going to be.
That can be the lesson for today. Finding peace in the battlefield. Whether your battlefield is work, home or wherever.
Muse: Exactly. I’ll leave you to your lawn. Good luck with the closing shift!
Thanks. I work until midnight tonight.
Muse: I know. Good night, since you’ll probably be tired when you get back!
Thanks. I now need to mow the lawn and tie up some loose ends before work.
Today’s high is going to be 77 degrees and the silver lining will be getting this lawn mowed.
To those of you who have ever worked a late shift before, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: God, please calm his heart. I know that he’s cheerful right now, but it’s going to get really busy later and that may change. Please give him that sense of peace during that time. Please, Jesus. In your name, Amen.
