Me & My Muse – Day 4800B: Dumb and Dumber

When, oh when are they going to wake up?  An unfathomable amount of time had passed since I began staring at my twin muses who were both deep entrenched in slumber.  While it felt like hours, it had only been a few minutes. My anxiety clutched me tight as I glanced at both of them with my last strand of patience.  I wanted them so badly to transform.  To become something new.  And for all I know, those few minutes could have very well been an eternity.

From the last transformation, both Muses were still chefs.  Chefs that still had the savory aroma of the last meal that they cooked for me before they fell asleep last night.  Chefs that spend so much time in the kitchen that the smells seem to cling to them, forming a second skin around their body.  They slept peacefully on their bed, smiling as if they were dreaming up their next culinary masterpiece.

I glanced at both Muses and the silk pajamas that they wore. The luxury of their sleepwear projecting their success from the culinary empire that they built from scratch.  They had as one would say in the industry the Midas touch, and every restaurant that they opened had a Michelin Star, with a number of them having more than one.  Their smiles and their snores could almost be tasted. Their gentle breathing was carefully measured with the same precision that they used when they chopped vegetables.

When is the next transformation going to happen?  They were probably exploring some new culinary landscape, since they were both twins.  Who knows what they could be dreaming?  Maybe this will result in them writing their next bestselling cookbook.  The minutes faded away and my patience waned as I glanced at my Twin Muses.

The minutes were stubborn in their execution and only made it more frustrating as the twin muse’s silent slumber continued.  So what will be next after chefs?  To review, my one Muse has been a fairy, a princess, a Galifreyan, a Zorpozian, a baby, a child, a tween, and with her twin a pair of influencers, nerds, dreamers, and chefs.  And even with all of those transformations, that was only the beginning.  What will they both be next?  Will they both assume another profession?  I hope that their next form will be equally helpful.  Something equally beneficial.  Equally peaceful.  Equally kind.

“Please,” I earnestly pleaded.  “Be something good again.  Something like chefs!  That food was good.  Can it be good again?  Nothing bad.  Please.”

That is what I hoped every time that she transformed.  In most cases, it’s not something bad.  With her baby form, it wasn’t necessarily bad.  Neither was it the case when they were teenagers.  It was just very stressful and frustrating.  Hopefully, she will be something less stressful, like her Pre-Teen form…

I continued anxiously waiting, until I heard a sound from both Muses.  It wasn’t their quiet and restful breathing anymore, but a sudden gasp. A gasp interrupted their slumber.  What’s going on?  Are they transforming?

Then I saw it.  The twin Muses began to flash once again.  Once.  Twice. Thrice.  A few more times.  This was it.  Both Muses were beginning to change their forms once again.

A series of flashes emanated from the twin Muses as they began to transform.  Their bodies flashed as they changed and transformed.  Their faces looked more rested and their skin became greasy.  Their hair became unkempt and their pajamas looked strangely mismatched.

And that was it.  Despite their wardrobe, both of my Muses looked completely normal.

My Muse yawned and smiled and laughed at me.  Her mouth was wide open as a torrent of saliva began to run down her chin.

“Uhhhhhh….” My Muse said with a blissful smile.  “Who are you?”

“It’s George!” Twin Muse shouted.  “Hey George!  I was sleeping and…uhhhhhhhhhhhh…I forgot what I was going to say next!”

“Flibbbbba Biscuit!”  Muse shouted.

“Oh yeah!” Twin Muse said with a goofy laugh.  “Flibbbba Biscuit!  Wait!  Where are we?”

Muse looked around and scratched her head.  “We are in a room!  Can I order a burger?”

I sighed.  “No! This is the Tower of Muses!   Don’t you two remember?”

“Duh…………” Muse said with her drooling mouth open.  “What’s a tower?”

“It’s something that you pull!” Twin Muse shouted, while giving her a toothy grin.

“No again!” I said as I facepalmed.   “That’s a towwer.  This is a tall building!”

“I’m eleventy six inches tall!” Muse said with a goofy smile.  “Am I tall?”

“Well I’m eleventy leventy thousand feet tall!” Twin Muse said with a laugh.

“Neither of you are that tall!” I said, growing more impatient.  “You’re both four and half feet tall and I’m taller than both of you!”

“We’re TALLER?” Twin Muse said with excitement.  “YAY!!!!”

“No no no!” I said, my frustration growing by the second.  “What happened to your intelligence?”

“What’s in tell uh gents?” Muse said as she scratched her head.

“You know a lot of big words!” Twin Muse said as she began to pick her nose.

“Hey!” I shouted.  “That’s gross!  Your finger doesn’t go there!”

“It’s okay!” Twin Muse said as she stuck the booger on her chin.  “I was saving it for later!”

“I already ate mine.” Muse said in a goofy chuckle.

“No you didn’t!” I shouted.  “You didn’t even move your fingers there!”

“Oh yeah!” Muse said with a smile.  “I must have did that while my eyes were closed…”

“You mean dreaming?” I said with a sigh.

“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….” Muse said as she drooled again.  “What’s a dream?”

“I don’t know.” Twin Muse said, looking around.  “But I hope it’s something that I can eat.  I’m hungry!”

“A dream is…” I sighed, realizing the futility of explaining anything to them.  “Nevermind.”

“Let’s get some food!” Muse shouted.

“Okay!” Twin Muse said, looking confused.  “How do you get food?”

“We’ll figure it out together!” Muse told her.  “Let’s go!”

Both Muses left the bedroom and closed the door incompletely so that the door was open just a crack.

This is going to be such a headache.  Both of my Muses are dumber than a sack of rocks.  How can I contend or even have the patience to deal with their stupidity!

100 days.  100 long days of dealing with Dumb and Dumber.  The twin Patricias are going to drive me crazy.  Why they would probably even make Patrick Star look smart.

Anyway, I better get the aspirin because the next 100 days are going to be long and stupid.
