With it being late in the morning on this Saturday, it’s high time that I start playing some more Super Mario Maker 2.  There is s a level that I’m working on that I’ve really been enjoying.  To echo the words of Mario, “Here we go!”

To start off the weekend, I paid my sister a visit.  I went and saw Harper and took a few pictures.  She was very sleepy, so she didn’t act very awake.

After seeing my niece, I bough some kimchi and came home.  I will now take it easy.

For this week, I managed to run a total of a little more than 16 miles.  That’s basically half a marathon so that’s pretty good in terms of progress.

To sum things up today, I got a lot of things done.  I ran 4.15 miles for my workout today.  So far, so good.

Having that said, I’ll call it a day.  The week is almost over.  It won’t be long before I’ll be able to relax.

Yup. That’s how much I ran this morning.  Four miles.  On a treadmill.

And to top it all off, I worked a full day.  All in all, it was a productive and satisfying Monday.

And my old friend “Blackie” is back.  The 2005 Buick LeSabre.  The ignition module was busted and a new one needed to be put in.  The repair bill was scary but I was able to pay it.

What’s left for the remainder of today?  Pretty much just the usual case with a work week.  Get ready for the next day and unwind as usual.

I would like to set some goals for the remainder of this year.  Not just ones that I stare at, but ones that I actually complete.  Getting more of my story written is one of them.  Finding a way to publish one of my books is another.  I will discuss more of this in future posts to come.  All you need to know right now is that they’re in the forefront of my mind.

To review, today went quite well. I went to Midland Free and then attended the service with my grandparents. We then had breakfast and I went home after that.

Before I went home, I needed some more food for the week and a water filter, so I stopped by the store to get the items I needed.

I will now take it easy for the rest of the day. I’ll make the most of what’s left of this weekend before I begin the week. For a lot of kids, it is the last week of summer, so you better enjoy it while it lasts.

The original plan today was that I would drive over to Reed City and visit my friend with my brother.  But from last night, my friend told me that this weekend would not work.

How do I finish a productive day at work after getting my old Buick towed?  By having breakfast for dinner, of course!  With the abundance of blueberries in the house, my mom decided to make blueberry pancakes with plenty of sausage links to go with it.

There is only one problem with this. With all the gluten in the pancake, it made it a tough pancake to swallow.  I will discuss this more in a future entry, as I would like to cover what I have been reading in Brain Maker.

I had one pancake and piled on the sausage.  I also had an egg, so that was my dinner.

Being tired from today, I am now going to call it a night.

With work done for the day, “both my teeth and ambitions are bared”.  Having revisited my childhood and saw the 1994 Lion King, I am totally prepared.  I’m prepared for the chance of a lifetime.  Prepared for sensational news.

With it being 2019 now,  a shining new era is tiptoeing nearer.  With a roaring total beyond $1.4 billion, The Lion King is already one of the highest grossing movies of all time.  At number nine, this movie should be a hit.

I now have a bathroom to clean.  After that, I’ll be seeing the movie with my brother.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.

To review this day as a whole, today was quite productive and full of activity.  I ran another 3.7 miles today and I presented a speech at today’s Toastmasters club at work.  All in all, today was quite productive.

For tonight, I will be going to another Toastmasters meeting, which will be at my home club.  The usual Taco Bell will follow.  That’s pretty much the rest of the day in summary form.

To be clear, yes.  This is the 1994 original animated version of The Lion King, not the 2019 remake that is in the box office.  Since my brother has not had a chance to watch the 1994 version, I will be watching it a second time with him.  We will then both see the new one in theaters this Wednesday.

To update everyone on yesterday, my friend was able to play a little bit of Yoshi’s Crafted World before he left.  All in all, it was a fun weekend to visit.

This morning, I wasted no time on getting my workout in.  I ran 3.7 miles this morning, alternating between hi intensity and low intensity workout speeds.  I ran at 5 miles per hour for 15 minutes and then walked at 2.5 miles per hour for 15 minutes.  I repeated that set of two for a total of one hour on the treadmill today.

On my break, I also had a chance to read Dr. David Perlmutter’s Brain Maker.  For dieting, this book is an eye-opener.  More on this in a later post.  All I can say for right now is that it’s pretty interesting information that might prove beneficial to anyone who wants to diet the right way.

For now, I’m going to take a breather and wait for Ryan to come home.  Then we will start the movie when he’s ready.

To provide a quick update, the birthday celebration weekend has been going great so far.  At this moment, my friend is currently resting for a short period of time.  When he wakes up, he will be playing more of the games that he got for his birthday.  That would be Yoshi’s Crafted World, a game that I got for him.

To recap yesterday, he came over in the morning and played some Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.  After that, he left for his other friends in the afternoon.  When he came back, he brought back some Basil Thai, which we all ate for dinner while watching another episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  After that, we opened up all of our gifts.  I got a book called Brain Maker and my brother got some silver coins.  From both me and my brother, my friend got Super Mario Maker 2 and Yoshi’s Crafted World.  Jeff decided to start Story Mode on Super Mario Maker 2.  After he played for a while, he wanted to play some more Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!  He then finished for the night and I went to bed.

This morning, he played some more Let’s Go, Eevee!  He then took a break for lunch and we watched the first episode of Agent Carter.  He was then tired and wanted to rest for a little bit.

Muse:  You’re watching the VHS Lion King?  That’s cool.  Retro is totally in!  I just finished watching a few videos on the Lion King and they were totally lit!

Everyone, I didn’t want to make the news official until now.  But since things are going well with her, I’ll go ahead and announce it.  Yesterday, at 3:21 p.m., my sister Rachel gave birth to a baby girl weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.  Ladies and gentleman, here is my first niece: Harper Rae Otis.  It’s official.  I’m finally an uncle.

 

My sister got discharged this morning.  Now as eager as my sister wants to take Harper home, the doctors at the hospital want her to stay a few more days.  That is probably a good idea, since the doctors want to make sure that she’s healthy.

With the fourth day of work done, only one more day remains before the second birthday weekend.  I need to sign my friend’s birthday card and wrap his birthday gift.  It will be a special NES weekend.

I also need to eat.  I am going to eat my leftover nachos from the other night and take it easy.  That’s all I have for now.

To be brief tonight,  I enjoyed tonight’s dinner.  My grandma is made a special birthday dinner for me and my brother.  It consisted of a chicken breast stuffed with refried beans and topped with cheese and salsa.  Rice, zucchini and extra refried beans were served with the dinner, along with some extra salsa and Tabasco sauce.  A brownie topped with whipped cream, raspberries, and vanilla ice cream was served for dessert.  Overall, it was pretty good.

With my birthday over, it is now time to relax and take it easy today. Before we do that, I would like to recap on what I did for my birthday. Yesterday and last night in particular.

First all, the morning. I went to work and worked much of the day. After that, I came home.

After I got home, I then waited for my brother to come home.  After he did, I rode with my parents and my brother to the restaurant for dinner.  I had dinner at Ghengis Khan Mongolian Barbeque with my parents.  I made three dishes. The first one was buffalo crab, scallops, shrimp, and calamari.  My second dish was teriyaki barbeque shrimp and noodles. I then had some hot and sour soup.  The last dish was what I called my “firework” creation.  I had Mongolian crab, shrimp, calamari and other Asian staples, like tofu, mushrooms, baby corn and noodles. I got a brownie covered in whipped cream for my free dessert. Overall, the dinner was amazing.

After the dinner came the cake and ice cream. The cake was a chocolate cake with buttermilk chocolate frosting from Meijer. After my family sang “Happy Birthday to You”, I blew out the candle with my brother, and we all ate cake and ice cream. I had a scoop of chocolate truffle and two scoops of vanilla.

Overall, my birthday was fun…

Time to end this now. I will now begin my day, going to work, doing a service project with my Adult Discipleship Group, and then coming home afterward. I will then enjoy the remainder of my day after that.  During lunchtime, I may visit my sister at the hospital to check up on my new niece.
