To all who have read this, I wish all of you a Happy New Year!
I’ll be back tomorrow for more interesting conversations with my spark of creativity. Same Walker Estate time, same Walker Estate place.
I’ll see you all next year, in 2020!
To all who have read this, I wish all of you a Happy New Year!
I’ll be back tomorrow for more interesting conversations with my spark of creativity. Same Walker Estate time, same Walker Estate place.
I’ll see you all next year, in 2020!
For starters, the chopped spinach for the spinach dip is continuing to thaw for tomorrow so I can make it today. What remains is watching this year’s Christmas.
In having another day off, I’ll be able to relax. I will return to work on January 6, 2020.
That’s the gist of it. Time to get ready and watch that footage.
Today’s high is going to be 43 degrees and the silver lining is being able to reflect on 2019 and everything that has happened this year.
To those of you who are reflecting on 2019, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: 2019 was a good year. And it’s going to end good with me being a fairy now. Tee hee!
With there having been so much that happened this year, what I would like to do before New Year’s is reflect on it. Today, I will be reflecting on the year as a whole.
Today, I went to church with my grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, and other uncle. After that, I went over to my duplex and dropped off some more things. I then had some breakfast at my grandparents and said goodbye to everyone.
Now done with all that, I will reflect on my memories. I will also buy some things for Spinach dip for New Year’s. And since my parents will be home with the new wood, I will help them unload it. Time to begin reflecting…
Today’s high is going to be 45 degrees and the silver lining is being able to reflect on my memories for 2019.
To those of you who like reflecting on the year, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: I’m glad you’re getting everything over there. Time to prepare the snacks for New Year’s…
I’m all packed and ready to make my second trip into town. Having recently signed a lease for a duplex last week, moving in has been a slow and gradual process.
After I take care of this second load of belongings, I will take it easy and call it a night.
Today’s high is going to be 39 degrees and the silver lining is getting more of my things moved in.
To those of you who like moving someplace new, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: Yay! You’re moving! Want me to help you with anything? I can move your bed and dresser over there in the blink of an eye! Take it easy after your second trip, okay?
With it now being a couple days after Christmas, what am I doing with my long Christmas break? Sorting boxes and playing some more The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch.
That’s about it. I’ll keep you posted on any new developments….
Today’s high is going to be 40 degrees and the silver lining is playing more Link’s Awakening.
To those of you who like seeing throwbacks to old classics, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
*Muse transforms into Marin*
Muse: Isn’t this great? I love the island and I love it even more since you’re washed up on it! My wish…If I tell it to the Wind Fish, will it come true? Right now, I’m in a very musical mood…Time to sing!
*Muse sings the Ballad of the Wind Fish*
With Christmas being over, I will now share with you the Christmas that I experienced.
When I woke up, my brother was the only other person up. I did my devotional and waited for everyone else to get up.
Eventually, my parents woke up. We then had a breakfast and sausage casserole for breakfast.
After that, we started opening the gifts. This is what it looked like before.
Muse: Wow! That’s a lot of gifts!
I know. This is what it looked like after we opened them.
Muse: That reminds me of the gifts that I opened couple days ago. The tree looked just like that when we were done.
It always does. But it was fun while it lasted.
After that, I took inventory of my gifts. For those of you who are wondering, this is what I got for Christmas.
Muse: That’s a lot of gifts! For me, I got mostly books this year.
I know. I’m guessing that you had a good Christmas.
Muse: I did. All the Intangibles came over to my house and we celebrated Christmas there. Besides books, I got some jewelry, some lipstick and a couple of electronics.
That’s a lot of good gifts. Moving on with the recap, I got ready and I went over to my grandparents. Me, my brother, my parents, my sister and her husband, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, my cousin and his wife, and my other cousins all had dinner, white elephant, had dessert, and came home. The dinner was prime rib, mashed potatoes, zucchini casserole, green beans with slivered almonds, baked carrots, brussel sprouts, potatoes, and apples, black and green olives and spinach salad with pepe, corn, craisins and feta cheese. The desserts consisted of sweet potato pie, lemon pie, chocolate vegan pie, raspberry pie, pear pie, and peanut butter stuffed chocolate balls. I took a piece of lemon pie, chocolate vegan pie, and raspberry pie, and had a peanut butter stuffed chocolate ball before the gift exchange.
Muse: That’s quite a spread! The food that we had was a little different, since not everyone there liked Tangible food.
Well, that’s the gist of it. Having shared that with you, I now need to get ready.
Muse: I need to ready myself. See you later!
I really need to get going so I can enjoy the rest of my day. With Christmas over, I’ll be enjoying 11 more days of vacation (including today). Today’s high is going to be 56 degrees and the silver lining is being able to enjoy this whole day and being able to enjoy my Christmas gifts.
To those of you who are enjoying your new gifts, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: I may be a Hylian Muse, but I’m going to stay in this fairy form a little longer. Besides, I get to be a Hylian Fairy Muse! I got a lot of gifts this year! And with all those new books, I’m going to have a lot of reading to do. Tee hee…
Once again, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. This is, without a doubt, my most favorite holiday. Christmas morning. Now it may be early, but I’m up and ready to open my presents. My parents may still be sleeping, but I’m excited. If it’s any part of me that has never grown up, it’s the part of me that acts four on Christmas morning.
Muse: For me, that just happened. I am so excited! Tee hee!
Twin Muse: So am I! Tee hee!
But for Christmas, how excited are you two?
Muse: I’m very excited. Tee hee! Part of me wants to squeal with excitement, but I will spare you that since I don’t want to wake up your parents. I’ll do it quietly instead. *whispering* Yaaaay!!!!
Twin Muse: Oh come on, twinnie! Everyone should be awake by now! If you want to squeal with excitement, do it! I know I’m excited! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!
I can see that one part of you hasn’t grown up either.
Muse: Who EVER grows up on Christmas morning? When I wake up on this day, I feel like I’m five again. Adulthood can wait for one day, can’t it?
Twin Muse: You feel like you’re five? Come on, sis! We’re Intangible! We can change our ages to whatever we want! Besides, I literally can’t adult today…*Twin Muse regresses to a five-year-old girl* Yay! It’s Christmas! When are we gonna open up all the presents?
Muse: *sigh* If you want to be five, be five. I am not changing my age…
Twin Muse: Suit yourself! *Twin Muse runs in a circle and squeals with excitement* It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!
As I was saying. Adulthood can wait. And I see that you’re cozy with your footie pajamas…
Muse: I am, and I’m not taking them off. They feel comfortable and they keep me warm. You’ve worn them before so you should know, right?
Twin Muse: I’m in mine, too! They’re my Frozen footed jammies! They’re my FAVORITE!
Right. Getting back to what you said. Adulthood can wait on Christmas. Whatever memories I have had when I was younger, they all return on this day. Now this may differ for some people. But for most, they can feel some aspect of their childhood calling back…
Muse: Yes. And some people fight it and repress it. They try to hide it, but this is unhealthy. Everyone. If you feel excited on this day, don’t hesitate to let it out. Listen to your memories and set them free. Remember your youth, and how fun Christmas was for you. Your memories only want to remind you of this. Listen to them and recapture the moment. Take a step back in time. Christmas only comes once a year! Tee hee!
Twin Muse: Or, if you can, change your age back to five! It’s so much fun! I can remember everything from kindergarten!
Muse: Um, sis? Tangible humans cannot change their ages. They can only age one second at a time, but can never age in reverse.
Twin Muse: They’re no fun! They should learn to do this! Now when can we open presents? I wanna open presents!!!!
Muse: They can’t learn it! They are not Intangibles! We are! Now stop being silly and turn back to your adult age.
Twin Muse: No! It’s Christmas so I don’t have to be a grown-up!
Girls! Let’s get back on track. I totally agree with letting your childhood run free on this day. But remember. There is another side of Christmas. A side that some people don’t pay attention to. Christmas is not about presents and Santa Claus. It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ.
Muse: Yes. I also look at the Advent Season when I celebrate this time of year. We need to know why we give these gifts.
Twin Muse: I like the story that mommy used to tell us about baby Jesus…
Muse: Yes. it’s a great story, isn’t it?
It is. And we do need to know why we give these gifts. What can we give to God what he doesn’t already have? All we can give to him is ourselves. And while we can’t give anything else to him, we give gifts to others to show our love and appreciation for them.
Muse: I also think of the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. It’s the only special where we hear the true meaning of Christmas.
Twin Muse: Can we watch that? I wanna watch Charlie Brown Christmas!
Maybe we can watch that later, okay? And Yes. We do hear the true meaning of Christmas. Linus quotes the Christmas story found in Luke. Matthew refers to the Wise Men delivering gifts to the baby Jesus.
Muse: What were these gifts for, anyway? I understand the symbolic meaning behind them. I believe they were used to pay for the trip to Egypt.
It probably was, for they had to flee from Herod, since he issued orders to kill every firstborn male baby. Jesus is the reason for the season. He was born to be the perfect sacrifice. To bear the sins of humanity so that we may live.
Muse: It must have been a heavy burden to bear all that.
It was. Today is indeed a joyful day.
Muse: Should we make him a birthday cake? I don’t know what frosting he would like!
Twin Muse: Maybe we should ask Jesus what frosting he wants? Let’s ask him!
I think he would be happy with any frosting.
Anyway, I want to wish everyone who is reading this Merry Christmas. Whether you celebrate one side, both, or don’t celebrate Christmas at all, understand that this is a very special day. Most importantly because Jesus was born on this day, both for you and for me. And from this day, many traditions have developed. The most popular one being the exchange of gifts.
The high today is going to be 47 degrees and the silver lining is celebrating the birth of Christ and the opening of presents. My parents are still not up. But when they are, it’s present opening time!
To all of you who celebrate Christmas, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: Merry Christmas, Kyle! My company just arrived so I’ll see you later! Tee hee…
Twin Muse: And I’m gonna open my presents! Yay!
Muse: *sigh*
Twin Muse: C’mon sis! I see it…That look…You really don’t want to be an adult today, do you?
Muse: *sigh* Urghhh…I can’t…I can’t adult…today…
*Muse regresses to a five-year-old girl*
Muse: Just for today, sis. I’m gonna open all my presents!!!!
Twin Muse: I’m gonna open mine FIRST!
Muse: No you won’t! I’m opening mine first!
*both Muse and Twin Muse teleport in a beam of light and run into the living room*
…and all through the house
Kyle’s got no work so there’s no need to grouse
His Santa cap was sitting on the bedpost with care
Reserved just for Christmas to be crowned on his hair
Kyle’s in the midst of his 16-day vacation
Just 16 whole days of rest and relaxation
Then out of the oven before they get black
I will feast on few a Christmas snack
Then to herald the evening such a sight it will be
When he attends the Christmas Eve service at Midland Free
Then off to my grandma’s house with plenty of cheer
A gathering with snacks. The company’s near
My aunts and my uncles, my grandparents too
And three of my cousins, all this I knew
The gathering warm, the noises were loud
The snacking and chatting from a sizable crowd
The day will be merry, the night will be bright
With plenty of snacks on this cold winter night
Then when I get home, I’ll don my PJ’s quick
So we can see a good Christmas flick
Then after that, it is on to tradition
My brother and me must carry out our mission
The time will be jolly, the room filled with heat
When we both watch The Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
Following that, it’s off to bed
Visions of CDs and games will dance in our heads
Looking at this, that’s all I have to say
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good day
Muse: Christmas is tomorrow! Eee! I’m so excited!
I know! Today is another day where I can take a breather. With it being a work holiday, I don’t have to worry about going to work…
Muse: All my things are done too. It’s only a matter of time…I’m so excited!
Wait. You’re a fairy? Why are you a fairy?
Muse: I love this form! And it goes so well with Christmas. You know how that is. Tee hee!
Well, if it makes you happy, go ahead. What about being Hylian Muse? Are you going to abandon that for Christmas?
Muse: I will. I mean, I’ve been that form for most of the story arc! And from what I heard from the Dark Muse, I don’t have to worry about her bothering me this year. Plus we are on a lot better terms than last year…Besides, she’s my sis!
That’s good to hear. Today is going to be exciting. It will be a day to relax before the excitement tomorrow…
Muse: I’m going to shower. Be back in a bit!
Okay. I need to shower myself.
Today’s high is going to be 39 degrees and the silver lining is watching the movie with my brother later tonight. This day is going to be quite fun. Having an extended vacation, I don’t have to worry about work for a while. For today and tomorrow, I’ll be in my next two days of vacation mode. It will be a day of snacking, relaxing and visiting with the family.
To all of you who love having 16 days off, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: Tee hee! I can’t wait until tomorrow! I wish I could open my presents early! Eee! I’m so excited! Tee hee…
???: Aren’t you excited, twinnie?
Muse: Sis! Where did you come from?
Twin Muse: The Creator granted me another wish! From today until January 6th, I will be in this original form!
Muse: I see you’re also a fairy! Tee hee!
Twin Muse: Why wouldn’t I be? I love fairies! Tee hee! Last one to the egg nog is a loser!
Muse: Oh no you don’t!
Twin Muse: Too late! I already got to the egg nog and… *BURP* I kind of drank it all…
Muse: Kind of? No one “kind of” drinks something…
Twin Muse: I guess you’re right and…eep! Oh no! Hang on, twinnie! I gotta go!
*Twin Muse flies out of the room quickly, leaving behind a dripping trail*
Muse: *sigh* I surely hoped that she packed them. During the last Christmas that I spent with her, I woke up to wet bedsheets. She’s sleeping in her own bed…I know that it can’t be helped. I still do love her…Sis? Are you okay?
*Muse flies out of the room toward the bathroom to check on her twin sister*

(SPOILER WARNING: For those who have not seen The Rise of Skywalker, I strongly advise that you stop reading this review. This review will contain numerous spoilers from the movie. The rating will be spoiler-free, so skip to the end if you want no spoilers. You have been warned.)
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
Have you ever been told a really good story? And then, in the middle of the story, the one telling you it suddenly stops. It may have been a bedtime story from when you were little, or one that a really good friend has told you. They start telling you the story, and then stop.
After that, for what seems like ages, they finally continue with their story. As a kid, waiting a whole day to hear the next part may seem like ages. Or your friend may have been out of town for a while. When they finally get back, they continue with the story.
You get the point. This story I’m referring to is a story of good versus evil. The light side versus the dark side of the Force. Jedi masters versus Sith lords. It started in the middle. It continued with the beginning. And now, after two years, the story finally comes to an end. This is the wonderful and amazing story of Star Wars.
And if it’s been a while since you have seen a Star Wars movie, here’s a brief refresher. Actually, I’m not going to rehash the first six episodes plus the two continuations from four years ago and two years ago. If you want the refresher, click here to read it from my review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens that I did four years ago.
And after two years, the story ends. Palpatine has spoken and has threatened revenge on the galaxy from a mysterious broadcast that he sent to it. Kylo Ren is determined to find Palpatine’s whereabouts kill the one threat that stands in his way. Rey is continuing her Jedi training while Poe is escaping danger on the Millennium Falcon with Finn, trying to deliver the shocking message of Palpatine’s return. This is the premise of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the next sequel released by Lucasfilm Ltd. and Walt Disney Studios.
To start things off, Star Wars is an epic space opera centered around a film series created by George Lucas. From its humble beginnings and phenomenal success, it has become an iconic franchise. In just the merchandising sector alone, the Star Wars brand is worth more than $60 billion, with $7.72 billion coming from the eight main films alone. It is a cultural phenomenon that has started with the first film and has continued to this day.
But with George Lucas selling the franchise to Disney in 2012, a wave of uncertainty has come across many of the fans. I for one am curious as to what move Disney is going to make. Where is Disney going to take the franchise? J.J. Abrams returns as the director of the final Star Wars installment for the Skywalker Saga. With the way that he handled The Force Awakens with the “mystery box” concept, I felt more reassured about his treatment of this movie. But how does Abrams handle Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? The very last movie in the Skywalker Saga that George Lucas put together 42 years ago? Is the Force strong with this movie, or has this third and final movie in the new trilogy turned the franchise over to the dark side? Let’s find out.
The movie begins with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) fighting Alazmec Colonists on Mustafar. He was after a relic called the wayfinder. This belonged to the long-deceased Darth Vader, and he was going to get this relic at all costs.
Once he had the wayfinder, it led him to the Exegol System. He enters a giant cube and takes the elevator down to the bottom. As he precedes downward, he hears Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) speaking to him.
When Kylo Ren meets Palpatine, he is determined to kill him, as he did with Snoke. But Palapatine revealed that he created Snoke and that every voice in his head came from him. He then promises to offer Kylo Ren with everything. A new empire and a new fleet. The First Order was only the beginning. The new Final Order fleet would help Ren in his new campaign to rule the galaxy. The only thing that Palatine needed to be annihilated was Rey, the very last Jedi in the galaxy. With that order, he promised Ren that he would rule the galaxy.
Meanwhile, on the Millennium Falcon, ex-stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega) and Resistance fighterpilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) engage the Wookiee Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) in a rousing game of dejarik (a holo-chess game played on a round board). The team gets a message from a Resistance informant with orders to deliver to Leia (Carrie Fisher). They insert the message into R2-D2 (Hassan Taj and Lee Towersey) just in the nick of time before they were assaulted by TIE fighters. Finn destroys most of the fighters and Poe lightspace skipped to escape the squadron.
On the jungle moon of Ajan Kloss, Rey (Daisy Ridley) meditates, floating in the air with many rocks. Unable to maintain her composure and balance, she falls to the ground. Leia then tells her not to give up and that nothing is impossible. She hands her the Skywalker lightsaber, which she grabs before she takes off running. She continues her training, knocking away every bolt from her training droid. A vision begins that was induced by Ren via Vader’s helmet. This upsets Rey, which causes her to hit BB-8 (Dave Chapman and Brian Herring) by mistake.
Later on, Rey studies holocrons and wayfinders in one of the ancient Jedi books she found at the First Jedi Temple. The Millennium Falcon returns on fire, due to Poe’s lightspeed skipping. This angers Rey, since she knows that the Falcon cannot support that. At a Resistance briefing, Poe delivers the shocking news. Palpatina has returned, and in 16 hours, attacks on all free worlds would begin. Palpatine was hiding on Exegol, which C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) explains that it can’t found on star charts and is known as the Hidden Land of the Sith. Rey, deep in thought, shows Leia from the Jedi book that she can get to Exegol. From what she found from Luke, he had searched for and nearly found the mysterious planet. From what Rey found, she considered a Sith wayfinder to be necessary to find Exegol. Leia refuses, but Rey insists, arguing that Leia would do the same thing if she was in her place. With that, the team is sent to the desert of Pasaana, to find her contact that would give her the wayfinder.
And so the mission begins. Will Rey find the wayfinder? And what about Kylo Ren, who is seeking Rey’s life?
And what about Palpatine and the Final Order that he has given to Kylo Ren to use at his disposal? Are all the free planets doomed? And what was so upsetting about Rey’s vision? Watch the movie and find out.
In looking at the length of the movie, I thought that it was pretty balanced and well-paced. The typical Star Wars movie is about this length, with the pacing being just right. The plot progresses at a smooth pace, helping us to take in all the new scenery and characters. And with the ending of the movie, you know that another story is going to continue beyond the Skywalker Saga. Star Wars is going to take a hiatus for a few years while they figure out the direction for the new story. The classic Star Wars score was great to hear again. After all, it is the same one that scored all the other Star Wars movies.
In looking at the characters, I loved the variety. A number of new characters made a return. I loved seeing Rey and Chewy from the last movie. Seeing Leia was again amazing, and RIP Carrie Fisher. This movie was a tribute to you and you will be missed! I loved Luke’s role and it was fun seeing more of him. There was also Finn, Poe, and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) from the last movie as well. Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) also made a cameo appearance. And let’s not forget the phantom emperor Palpatine, the villain beyond every Star Wars movie in the Skywalker Saga. And how can we forget Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams)? He was a wonderful surprise and I’m glad that they put him in the movie.
There were also a couple of new characters that were portrayed quite well. We have Zorii Bliss (Keri Russell), which was a wonderful addition to fill in Poe’s story on Kijimi. There is also TZ-1719, or Jannah (Naomi Ackie), which was the perfect companion for Finn. There is also the new droid named D-O (J.J. Abrams). With the new characters, they’re a wonderful addition to this sequel and I liked the place that each one had in telling this wonderful story.
And what can I say about the nitpicks? The one thing that I wished was that we had a little more closure. I felt like they crammed in everything pretty quickly and if they had any cut content, they should’ve kept it in as it would’ve done a better job at closing up the 42-year saga. And while we’re closing up things, I would like to revise my criticism on The Last Jedi. I felt that Johnson hurt the movie in the direction that he took it. With today’s ratings, I would give it a 3 out of 5. For this current installment, Abrams did a good job at patching things up but having two ruined films in a row should be a wake-up call for Disney. If you’re going to make a Star Wars movie, take your time and don’t rush production. Lucas never did and that’s why his films were a phenomenal success. With those nitpicks aside, I thought that Episode IX was pretty solid overall.
How did Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker do? Having reviewed the recent box office results, it’s performing below the standards that I expect it to. To put things into perspective, it’s performing worse than The Last Jedi! Two years ago, that movie grossed $104,684,491 on opening day. The Rise of Skywalker, however, is falling short at $89,615,288. The sixth highest opening day total of all time. On top of that, it grossed $40 million for the Thursday preview. With it currently being the eleventh highest grossing movie of the Star Wars series, I am confident that it will get up there. Maybe at least secure the number three spot behind The Last Jedi. In rounding up the numbers from the past trilogy, Episode I grossed a $64.8 million weekend gross. Episode II grossed $80 million and Episode III grossed $108.4 million. For The Last Jedi, the weekend domestic gross is a disappointing $177.3 million, behind The Last Jedi‘s $220 million and The Force Awakens $248 million from four years ago. The current domestic gross is $177.3 million. In adding the foreign gross of $198.7 million, the worldwide gross stands at $376 million. With a production budget of $200 million, it has made more than that in just one weekend alone. And that’s not even domestically. It would need another $23 million to make back it’s budget domestically. This movie has a long ways to go to even reach the top ten. Casting my few nitpicks aside, I really loved this movie. I loved the way that it ended. I only wish that they spend more time on making closure to such a wonderful story that George Lucas began 42 years ago. The force with this movie is lukewarm, in very much the same way that it was with Rey during the new trilogy. Her fear kept her moving between Jedi and Sith, and I feel that the performance of this movie at the box office is doing the same. I still encourage many other others to see this movie, as we all need to see how this story ends. I can say that there is a big shocking surprise in the movie, and that is enough to make this movie worth seeing. I would see it again, thus adding $7 more dollars to its total gross. Star Wars is Lucas’s baby and Disney knows this. They just need to give it the respect that it deserves for a good ending. And with the franchise in Disney’s hands, I am confident that they will successfully continue the legacy that George Lucas has started, with all the sagas continuing after the Skywalker Saga. I graciously applaud the finale to the 42-year long saga of Star Wars and I give Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker a 4 out of 5.
Okay. It’s been about four days since we saw the movie. Are we going to talk about it, or what?
Muse: Yes. I’m ready.
You slept in quite a bit today, didn’t you? Until 1:00 in the afternoon if I can recall correctly…
Muse: There’s a reason for that. For the past few nights, I kept having these nightmares about Palpatine. I was Rey, and he wanted me to kill him…Since I refused, he zapped me with an enormous current of force iighning…
*sigh* Is that the only reason?
Muse: Yes. I know…It’s pretty dumb, isn’t it? I have these dreams a lot in some of the mystery books that I read…
Well anyway, let’s get to the movie.

Let’s begin with first impressions. What did you think of the beginning? There was a scene where Kylo Ren was on a planet, looking for something important. He slaughtered some innocent colonists just to get what he was looking for.
Muse: I loved the beginning. The title crawl was awesome. The events picked up a little later. Maybe a few months after The Last Jedi…
After that, Kylo gets the treasure. He opens it up and it’s some kind of device. He uses it to go to another planet in outer space…
Muse: Yeah. I saw that. He then takes a lift down to what looked like some kind of temple. And in that temple was…oh my gosh!
Yes. Palpatine is back, and Kylo Ren is ready to kill him, as he wants all opposition that stands in his way to be killed.
Muse: Yeah. But then Palpatine offered Kylo Ren everything. A new empire and a powerful new fleet of ships.
Indeed. Palpatine was after Rey. With Rey being the very last Jedi, Palpatine wants Kylo Ren to do what his grandfather could never do…Put an end to the Jedi order.
Muse: And didn’t we get a scene on the Millennium Falcon after that? Chewy was owning everyone in dejarik, as usual…
Yeah. Even if he cheats, it’s best to let him win. C-3PO said it best in Episode IV: “Let the Wookiee Win.”
Muse: After that, they get a message from a resistance informant. Then they entered a fight with some TIE fighters. And…oh my gosh! Poe actually lightspace skipped with the Millennium Falcon!
He did, but it greatly damaged the ship. Getting to the rest of the movie, the pacing was good, and with the way that movie ended, I’m curious about how the series will continue, with the Skywalker Saga all finished. What future adventures will await Rey in the future movies to come?
Muse: Who knows? With 42 years put into the Skywalker Saga, I liked how they wrapped it up.
So did I Now the ending, I really loved the ending. Rey…
Muse: Shhh! Don’t mention the ending! That was totally epic but a lot of people still haven’t seen it…
Very well. This will be mostly spoiler-free. But be fairly warned. In my review for this movie, there will be spoilers. Lots of them. So much so that the review will be prefaced with a spoiler warning.
Muse: That’s fine. With having an informal discussion about the movie, I want to make sure that we don’t spoil it for everyone…But yeah. The ending is really really good.
Overall, I give the movie a 5 out of 5. It is on par with The Force Awakens and it’s very epic and action-packed. It was a really good sequel that wrapped up the Skywalker Saga with Rey, the Resistance, and the First Order…I mean, Final Order…
Muse: 5, huh? That’s a little bit generous. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. For it to earn that extra half star, it really has to grow on me. The ending seemed rushed, trying to close all the plot arcs from a story 42 years in the making. And over time, it will grow on me. I know that it will…
Thanks for your comments on the movie. With that, I will definitely have to see it again.
Muse: See it again! I know that I will! So you’re seeing it again? I think that I’m going to…And my Rey dress needs to be washed. It’s stained with popcorn seasoning from nearly a week ago. See you tomorrow…
I’ll let you do that.
That’s it for the discussion. Stay tuned for the review!
Until then, I’ll see you shortly for the review!
If Tom Hanks was a train conductor, this is what he would be shouting outside your house on Christmas Eve.
Now what would Tom Hanks be doing here? Your train has arrived. You stopped believing in Santa Claus so you are now greeted by a magical train. A train bound for the North Pole. Make your decision quick. The train conductor is very strict about being on time and he is not going to wait for you another minute.
If your decision was yes, then welcome aboard. You are on The Polar Express. A special service offered to help kids who have any lingering doubts about the man in red. The ride is free, and every kid will meet Santa before he takes off to deliver his gifts around the world.
Tonight, I will be seeing this movie. If I have said it before, I will say it again. This movie gets better and better every time you see it. It’s magical and nostalgic. Can you remember your childhood memories about Christmas? This movie will bring them all back, because you, the viewer, are riding that train with them.
Muse: So you’re seeing the Polar Express? I LOVE that movie! Rather than seeing it alone, I think I’ll join you.
Please do. Just remember, miss. The conductor does not like to wait. We want to start the movie ON TIME and end ON TIME! We have a tight schedule to keep tonight…
Muse: Okay, Tom Hanks.
Besides that, my brother works at the Post Office. After he gets home, I’ll watch the movie.
The high today is going to be 47 degrees and the silver lining will be watching The Polar Express tonight.
To those of you who love reliving your childhood memories through Christmas Movies, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: To gear up for the movie tonight, I’m brewing up a a large pot of HOT CHOCOLATE! Hot hot! Oh, we got it! I love that movie!
Since I want to make the most out of this day, I’ll cut to the chase.
I’ll be taking it easy at home, watching some more Christmas movies and specials. In the evening, I will watch The Nativity Story with my brother.
Muse: That is a good movie. I plan on watching it myself…
I will now get ready.
Today’s high is going to be 48 degrees and the silver lining is watching The Nativity Story with Ryan.
To those of you who look forward to Christmas, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: Oh yeah! There’s one more gift that I forgot to wrap! Better finish wrapping it now…
Santa’s list. No trouble! Just kidding. Like last year, I am working on a new list. The list that I am making is a list of all the things that I need to do before Christmas. It is a short list, and I plan on getting mostly everything done on it within the next few days.
The Winter Solstice is also today, so if you think our days are too short, don’t worry. Today will be the shortest day of the year. After that, our days will slowly and gradually get longer and longer.
Getting back to the list, one of those items is already being done today. My laundry is all done, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
That is an example of one of the items on my list. As for the others, I will leave that up to your imagination to figure them out.
Muse: You don’t have a list.
That is where you are wrong. The list that I have is a mental list. It saves paper and I can throw it away when I am done.
Muse: Fair enough. Today, I plan on getting some Christmas treats made for my company that will be coming over soon…
Sounds good. Another item on that list is more recreational, and it has already been completed.
Muse: Christmas footage, right? I’m done with my footage too! All that’s left is to watch some Christmas specials and movies!
With the footage already done, that sounds like a good idea. Well, it’s time to complete our lists!
Muse: I’m way ahead of you on that. Good luck on yours. Bye!
It’s time to take a breather. I already wrote my dreams for today. The audio is done and so is my prayer for my future wife. From there, I’m just going to take it easy for the rest of the day. I will also be going into town later to take care of some business regarding a last minute Christmas gift…
Today’s high is going to be 43 degrees and the silver lining will be getting more items on my list accomplished.
To everyone who loves to work on their to-do list, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: I don’t have much more to do on my list! Time to go and make some cookies! These are going to be good…
What do you get when you stay up until ten o’ clock at night and wake up at four-thirty in the morning? You get a Jedi Hangover. It’s really just a headache. The movie was good, but the next day side effects aren’t. And judging from my past late night premieres, this Jedi Hangover is pretty mild…
Okay. The headache really isn’t as bad as I’m making it out to be. Now I’ll get to the movie…
That’s strange. My Muse is not responding. I’m guessing that she’s still sleeping. We’ll discuss the movie when she’s awake. I promise.
Today’s high is going to be 34 degrees and the silver lining will be having a nice long vacation.
To all of you who have experienced next day headaches, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: *snore* No…Palpatine…Stay away…AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I just got back from the movie, and…
Muse: We’re not doing this.
But…
Muse: I enjoyed the movie a lot. I’m just too tired to discuss it tonight. Can we discuss it tomorrow after I get some sleep? Good night!
Sure. We can do that.
Just to let you know, the movie was amazing and tomorrow, I’ll tell you why…
For those of you who don’t know, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker begins tonight. I already have my movie ticket, so that really simplifies things…
Muse: Aren’t you excited? I surely am!
Yes. I’m very excited! To hold me over, I’ll be having some Christmas sweets before I leave for the movie tonight.
Muse: I even dressed up as Rey. Don’t I look good?
Yes. Very. I love those triple buns.
Muse: You better hope that Ben Solo didn’t hear you say that. He wouldn’t like that very much…
Ben? You’re not thinking of going to the Dark Side, are you?!
Muse: Not at all. Ben likes me, and…I don’t know. I’m kind of torn how I feel about him. He’s a monster!
Relax. It was just a compliment. I wasn’t trying to make the move on the heroine. But seriously. You look good.
Muse: Thank you. I will camp out by the theater while you’re at work.
Go ahead and do that. I work my full work day. As for later, I will be heading home. Later on, I’ll be heading off to the movie. Later on, there will be a brief discussion about this movie, followed by a full movie review this weekend. So stay tuned for that.
Today’s high is going to be 30 degrees and the silver lining is seeing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker tonight.
To all of you who like seeing a good movie, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: If there are any other Reys there, they’re going to lose. How can they beat this? I even brushed up on my Star Wars history. Especially the last two canonical movies. Heh. I’m such a nerd…
That’s right. You won’t be able to see this after tonight. Well, maybe with the exception of catching it online or on demand.
Today, I worked my typical 6:30-3:30 workday. I am now at home, taking it easy. And at 8:00 EST, the finale for Survivor: Island of the Idols airs on CBS. It’s a two-hour finale with a one hour reunion show to follow. It will be a nice conclusion to this season.
Who will win? I am hoping that it will be someone who really deserves it. After all, I would like a happy ending to this season…
Today’s high is going to be 17 degrees and the silver lining is seeing the finale of Survivor: Island of the Idols tonight.
To those of you who like watching reality TV shows, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: *sigh* Survivor? I’m sorry. I’m going to rewatch all the Star Wars movies for tomorrow. Have fun!
With work all finished, I am now going to head over to a Toastmasters meeting. Food will follow at Taco Bell. That’s pretty much about it.
Today’s high is going to be 31 degrees and the silver lining is having the evening to relax.
To those of you who like evening activities, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: I should check in on the Advanced Intangible Toastmasters club. I haven’t been to it in a while. I wonder how it’s doing?
Make that two countdowns, to be exact. The countdown until Christmas and the countdown until Christmas break.
For Christmas, nine days remain. For Christmas break, five days remain. Well technically four, since the first day is complete.
Since my project requires facilitation of table topics, no prep is needed. All I need to do is have some dinner and then I’ll call it a night.
Today’s high is going to be 32 degrees and the silver lining is it being so close to Christmas.
To those of you who are also counting down until Christmas, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: I’m counting down, too! I’m also counting the number of cups of hot chocolate that I had today. I’m up to five cups so far. Will I beat my record from yesterday? Time for cup #6…
Honestly, I feel like this weekend has gone by so fast. First, it was Friday afternoon and now it’s Sunday evening. Where has all the time gone?
The good thing about this week is that it’s the last one before my long break. And with Christmas in just ten days, it will be here before I know it.
Time to wrap up this day and get ready for tomorrow. With my last three gifts here today, I was able to wrap all of them. I’m all finished with 10 days to spare. Time to enjoy what’s left of this Sunday…
Today’s high is going to be 29 degrees and the silver lining is being able to reflect on this day off.
To those of you who enjoyed this weekend, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: This weekend was fun. Time for some more hot chocolate! What is this, my eighth cup today? I seriously can’t get enough of that stuff…
