Me & My Muse – Day 1010: A Forum

What forum am I talking about?  Tonight, I am going to a forum at my church.  And after a busy day at work, this is just what I need.

Muse:  A forum, huh?  Having sound council is what the church needs to have a unified and effective body.

You’re an elf?  You seem to resemble Galadriel, I see.

Muse:  I do, but I am not Lady Galadriel.  She is with Lord Celeborn in Lothlorien.  All is well there.

And how old are you?  Elves typically have long lifespans.

Muse:  They do, but it is not a matter that I will disclose to someone of your kind.

Why not?  What will I do with such information?

Muse:  If your curiosity has gotten the best of you, I will reveal my age to you.  The years that I have walked this land number 2478.

Time doesn’t seem to effect you very much, as you still look quite young.

Muse:  This is rather normal for elf-kind.  Now you have a forum to prepare for, yes?

I do.  But I do have one more question.  Could you speak some elvish for me?

Muse:  I know all of the elvish tongues, but it is a trivial matter to speak any of them to a non-native.  Do you know any of the languages yourself?

I don’t.

Muse:  Then you would need an interpreter for any of the elvish tongues that I would speak to you.  Avarin, Quenya, Telerin, Sindarin…All of them would be a waste of time to speak to you without an interpreter.

Fine.  You don’t have to.  It was worth a shot.

Muse:  I am heading back to Lothlorien.  I will revisit you again, as it takes but a short time to get there by teleporting.  I bid you farewell!

*Muse teleports in a beam of light*

Time to get ready for the forum.  That’s pretty much this day in a nutshell.

Today’s high is going to be 50 degrees and the silver lining is going to tonight’s forum.

To those of you who like unwinding, I hope you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Lá istas quet’ Eldarin!  Lá noltuvanyan!
