Me & My Muse – Day 661: Cavern of Coins

TIME FOR ADVENTURE!

This little guy is determined, and he’s not going to stop until he reaches the treasure at the very bottom.

After collecting every treasure in the world, Toad is determined that there is one more place to look.  A seemingly endless maze full of mummies that give chase, following his every move.  This is the Mummy-Me Maze Forever.

Is the maze really forever?  Not necessarily.  There is 50 levels, with the placement of enemies becoming increasingly more difficult the further down you go.  And with an objective of collecting 5000 coins, you definitely want to collect a good share of coins WHILE dodging the mummies.  And watch out.  If you hit a wall, double back on the same path you came from or stop moving, the mummy will collide right into you.  You’re only allowed two hits and after that, you die.  So if you’re almost done and you die, you have to start over from the very beginning.  There are no checkpoints.  Granted, there are mushrooms along the way that can restore that extra hit, but there are not too many to be found.

And forget about memorizing the various paths in the maze.  Each maze is randomly generated, meaning that you will be running through a new maze every time.  Some floors are fixed and always have the same enemies on it.  Floors 10, 20, 35 and 50 are safe, and have no enemies or mummies on them.  Floors 5, 15, 25, 30, 35 and 45 all have Charging Chucks, and with each floor adding an additional Charging Chuck, it makes it all the more difficult to dodge them.

My friend will be attempting this maze again tonight when he comes over.  His highest record was the 39th level, and he had over 5000 coins.  It’s only a matter of time before he makes it all the way to 50.

All this will happen after I finish my 2 to 7 dough shift at Little Caesars.  When I finish, I can watch the coin collecting suspenseful chase continue.

Today’s high is going to be 61 degrees and the silver lining is later, when I watch my friend give another attempt at Mummy-Me Maze Forever.

To those of you who like watching insanely challenging feats, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Almost done?  I’m almost done eating all these yummy states!  The big one was kind of spicy!   Tee hee!
