The time has come.  The one day that has happened like so many before it.  It’s time to head to the ATM, because today is Payday.

Today may not be payday for you, but it is for me.  And for any of you who has ever experienced a payday, it feels great.  Now there’s money to pay off some bills.  Money to pay for some more gas, or more food, or, if we have a lot saved up, a vacation.

Now most of you will get your payment in the form of a direct deposit.  At my work, however, it doesn’t work that way.  My work is old-fashioned, so we still get checks every payday.

But alas.  Whatever amount I get today will not be enough.  I said it before.  $500 a month is not enough to live off of.  Hopefully, something good will happen in the horizon….

 

Muse:  Yay!  I finally got it!

What did you get?

Muse:  It’s my first Payday!  See?

 

Your first PayDay candybar, huh?  But let’s be honest.  I posted that joke a month ago on Facebook.

Muse:  But I’ve never had a PayDay before!  This is my first one!

It’s basically peanuts and caramel.  They’re okay.

Muse:  Mmm! You’re right!  So what’s today’s topic?

I’m talking about Payday.

Muse:  You mean this?

No.  I’m talking about the day that you get paid.

Muse:  Oh.  That!  I already got paid a few days ago….

How did you get paid?  Your job doesn’t involve pay!

Muse:  Yes it does!  I can remember receiving my payment!

So where are those dollars?

Muse:  Dollars?  We don’t use that currency where I’m from.  The currency is….imaginary….Tee hee!

Oh.  That’s right.  You’re a Intangible, so you created your own currency to feel better about yourself.

Muse:  So what if I did?  All intangibles have their own currency!  Love just gave me some of his the other day!

So how do you figure out the exchange rate?

Muse:  It’s all negotiated.  But it’s all too complicated for a “Tangible” like you!

Try me.

Muse:  No!  I’m not telling, so NYAH!

Why?  I’m curious to know how it works.

Muse:  It’s a secret!  Tee hee!  One that I will never tell you.

Oh, come on!

Muse:  Never ever gonna tell you!  Ha ha!

So you’re going to play that game, huh?

Muse:  Yup!  And speaking of which, I’m going to trade some of my currency with friendship!  Bye!

 

Whatever their exchange rate is, I guess it’s not important.

For today, it looks a little overcast.  My silver lining will be getting paid (of course) and hopefully finishing my editing on my story (I’m keeping my fingers crossed!).  I will also be buying a PayDay candy bar, since the one my Muse was eating looked so good.
