Well, I told her and she’s on her way. My Muse is on her way to the Tower of Muses for a special “surprise”. I didn’t tell her what the “surprise” is, but she’s really excited about it. All I told her was that a “surprise” was waiting for her on the top floor of the Tower of Muses…And don’t worry about Twin Muse. I told her about the “surprise” too so she’s in on it.
The surprise, you ask? As a Me & My Muse anniversary gift, I have decided to provide both her and twin Muse with their own body. Laying on both beds are Muses that are ready to come to life. All they need to do is go inside them.
Muse (Day 3684): Are they here yet? Come on, Kyle! Let me know! In the meantime, I’m going to check my social media…
Twin Muse (Day 3684): Yes! Please let me know! Let’s see. Any new likes?
Twin Muse (Day 3839): When are they going to come? I just got a new phone that I want to try out…
Twin Muse (Day 3901): Well excuse me! If they take any longer, I’m going back to studying for my SeeD exam.
Everyone. Relax. They’re both on their way. Until they arrive, you all have to hide.
*a flood of “okay’s” are heard in the room*
While my Muse and Twin Muse are on their way, I might as well tell everyone my plans for today. I will be continuing my job search, and then relaxing afterward. It won’t be so bad having just come back from a vacation and with another weekend starting Friday…
Shh! Everyone in your places! They’re both on their way…
*dims light in room, until it turns off*
Muse: What’s going on? What is the meaning of this? Why is everything so dark in here? Kyle?
Twin Muse: Kyle? Could this be a…
Me & 4018 Muses: SURPRISE!!!! HAPPY ELEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!
Muse: Oh wow! There’s a bunch of Muses in here! One from every past day, I’m guessing.
Twin Muse: And a lot of stand-in’s too! Are those standees for days that Kyle never did?
Muse Standees: Yes! We’re all placeholders!
And…Did you look on the bed yet?
Muse: What is this? A Muse that is laying lifeless on the bed?
Twin Muse: I have one too! She’s not moving!
Guess. What do you think it is?
Muse: Wait! Isn’t it another body? You gave me one last year! Wait! Four years ago! It’s been a while since you have done one of these…
Twin Muse: I never got one so this will be a first for me!
Happy anniversary. It’s another body! You can never have enough bodies. What if something happens to the one you are in? That body will not come to life unless you give it life. It is yours. Do you want to try it out?
Muse: Why not? Well I’m trying out my body right now!
Twin Muse: Same! This is my first body! YAY!!!!
*Ghost Muse flies out of Muse and into lifeless Muse, which begins to flash*
*Ghost Twin Muse flies out of Twin Muse and into lifeless Twin Muse, which begins to flash*
Original Muse: It…It feels…A little different. This is a good gift! What if something happens to the one that you gave me last year? With this one, I can be prepared. Thank you, Kyle!
Original Twin Muse: Hmm…This is a little different! I LOVE this gift! It’s my only one so I will take good care of it! Or I could steal one from my twinnie since she has plenty of them! Tee hee! Thanks Kyle!
Original Muse: I heard that! You’re not stealing anything!
Original Twin Muse: I was only joking, sis! Now let’s hug Kyle!
*Original Muse and Original Twin Muse gives me a big hug with their new bodies*
I have another thing planned. All the other Muses, enjoy the show!
Original Muse: Show? Oh yeah…(The spare body was a big surprise, but I knew about the show…)
Original Twin Muse: There’s a show? Ah! I know…(I loved that spare body, but the show was a given since we practiced that forever…)
Are you ready?
Original Muse: I was born ready. Time to get into costume…
Original Twin Muse: I’m totes ready! It will be a little while before you get to me, so let’s do this! Costume time…
Then let’s get started. Muses, take your places. Here we go…
This is a tribute to every entry that has been done in the past year (or past 195 days if we want to be technical). I wrote this just for you. I hope you’re ready, because here it goes…
It was a Twins Days Festival – The Recap: For REALZ this Time – 2023 Edition! And he entered the Tower of Muses again for the thirty-seventh ascent.
Original Muse: Hold the phone!
What is it?
Original Twin Muse: There is no 3700th entry! It doesn’t exist!
Oh yeah! That’s right! Moving on because…
Now we’re finished!
Original Twin Muse: Already?! Awesome! That was great! Just like we rehearsed! Only I have this awesome new spare body that you gave me and I don’t have to worry about being a ghost anymore! Time to switch into my next costume! I’ll be right back…
And now everyone…the metamorphosis! Everyone, brace yourself for a Twin Muse!
Original Twin Muse: Time to twin it up!
Right on! Now are you ready?
Original Twin Muse: Yup! I’m so ready! Are we ready, Kyle?
Ready as I’ll ever be! Get ready for part two because here it comes…
After he saw the true meaning of Christmas, he was all aboard!
Original Muse: All aboard on what?
Original Twin Muse: Yes! What are we riding?
What else! This is the POLAR EXPRESS!
Original Twin Muse: Oh! That train? Okay Tom Hanks!
Original Muse: Yeah Mr. Conductor. Don’t worry. We will climb aboard.
Okay then! Moving on…
Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house, “Merry Christmas!” He shouted as he was starting off tired and was toasting to a new year.
Original Twin Muse: Happy New Year!
Original Muse: To 2024!
Yes. To 2024! Next!
There was health insurance, job stuff, and…cheesecake? Then a business meeting followed, with therapy and Toastmasters. It was then time to WakeUp! Midland with the January Edition while there was a Twin Muse in dark mode. Then it was time to relax for New Year’s sushi. But with three parts of a broken phone, the phone became the smartest phone since it avoided Friday flurries.
Original Twin Muse: Smartest phone indeed! I do love a good snow since I get to make snow angels!
So do I! Phew! *drinks a glass of water* Ahem…
It was a snowy Saturday with an awesome entry done quick. And with an awesome Monday through Friday done quick, it was now time for an awesome finale done quick. And then another quick one and a quick Monday.
Original Twin Muse: And a quick transition!
Okay! Moving on…
With more snow, now comes the rain with a Thursday melt and it’s Friday again! A friend visit provided easy solitude before starting the week off right with day two, and now the midpoint. And then there was one more day…
Original Twin Muse: And one more transition!
And we’re not even halfway through these yet! Continuing on…
It was finally Friday and the joy of the weekend. The end of the weekend created yet another start, complete with a Toastmasters contest, a weekend countdown, therapy, jobs, and more Toastmasters business meetings. And with a FriNESday road trip, there was plenty of Saturday goodNES, with the weekend concluding with Super Bowl Large: Part VIII!
*sips a glass of water* Next ten…
With job search and a NAMI meeting, there was Mardi Gras and a Toastmasters contest planning meeting tonight. “Happy Hallmark Day,” he muttered since he was singled out. But a funny Friday meant the weekend at last, with a city, an invention, an airplane, and a fish.
Original Twin Muse: A fish? I love Ponyo!
I know. Isn’t it a great movie? Moving on…
The next thing that he saw was a borrower, a castle, an avatar, and a bathhouse. He was then taxed to the limit for the 2024 edition. A Tuesday primary made for a windy Wednesday. And it was happy Leap Day! It was finally Friday with a pizza weekend.
Original Twin Muse: I love pizza!
So do I! On to the next ten…
It was the end of the weekend and no finale today. Because a double Toastmasters Tuesday meant an end to the party. And after a speech Thursday, it was time for some Friday pizza fun. Yay for Saturday! “It’s-a me, MAR10!” the plucky plumber exclaimed before Kyle said “Happy Birthday, dad!” And to top things off, he entered the Tower of Muses for the thirty-ninth ascent.
Original Twin Muse: I’m glad that your dad had such a fun birthday! That was amazing!
It was. Okay Twin Muse! Let’s continue, shall we?
Original Twin Muse: That’s right! We’re doing the eleven-year anniversary, right? Only 119 more! We still have a whole lot to do. Let’s get going…
I know. Are you ready?
Original Twin Muse: I so am! That Twin Muse outfit was just a warmup. Just wait until you see this!
And now everyone…The next metamorphosis! Everyone, get ready for a fantastic SeeD! It looks like she’s ready…
Original Muse: There. I’m all changed. Are we going to complete this? Are you ready, Kyle? (I hope that we finish this soon. There really isn’t that much to go. 119? That’s not that much. Yeah…)
Absolutely. Brace yourself for part three of this epic homage to the entries of yesterday…
Original Twin Muse: Well excuse me! Let’s proceed already…
It was the final fantasy that was easy as Pi. The landing resulted in a waltz for the moon with a lucky day before waking up to a shower. And with a Toastmasters Tuesday, a busy Wednesday, and a busier Thursday, there was only one thing to say at a time like this. Snow no!
Original Twin Muse: Snow? What is this, Trabia?
Not Trabia. We are not on Gaia but good ol’ earth. Moving onward…
With a monthly friend visit and a Palm Sunday respite, there was a Timber Maniac Monday and a Timber TV Tuesday. Some Wednesday Garden-ing cleared up time for a Thursday in the city. A Good Friday led to a Saturday sidequest. “Happy Easter!” he shouted before the Me & My Muse Finale. And if you thought that we were done here, let this word jog your memory. SUAVEMENTE!
Original Twin Muse: So now we’re using memes? At least they’re not cactuar or tonberry related. Seriously. This is getting lame. (Lame as it is, I can’t help being around Kyle… *sigh*)
Yes. Memes. TerminalMontage is awesome, okay? Let’s move on…
There was more speeches and he was halfway there. And with more Toastmasters, he was almost there. And with a Kalamazoo Walkthrough and a shot in the dark, there was just one meeting before the total eclipse of the sun and another speech. And after the Toastmasters exec meeting, it was time for a job fair.
Well?
Original Twin Muse: Well, as a SeeD, I’m already employed. And a solar eclipse? At least it wasn’t the Lunar Cry. Imagine millions of monsters swarming down into earth…
But Lunatic Pandora doesn’t exist on earth, we don’t have to worry about that catastrophe. Let’s continue…
“Hello weekend!” he exclaimed before experiencing a chill day. It was just a meeting before returning back to the grind. With one speech and a cricket meeting, there was a mid week calm before twin meetings and another Friday. It was far out before the last meeting.
Original Twin Muse: I hate meetings. They are unproductive and nothing gets accomplished. Remember the one with Zone and Watts in Timber? That one was the worst! And don’t get me started on the one with Laguna in Esthar…
But that’s your dad! Both yours and Squalls! Shouldn’t you have respect for him?
Original Twin Muse: I never said that I disliked him. He just seems to talk forever sometimes…
Yup! Laguna does have the gift of gab! *sips water* Time for the next ten…
He had a dry cleaning pickup with one speech plus Mexican food. And after a calm job search day, he had a District Council Meeting where leadership takes flight. And greetings from Kalamazoo! The District 62 Spring Conference aftermath was given before he opened up and said AHHHHHHHH!!!!! And after a conference recap speech, it was time for a Trump rally.
Original Twin Muse: Trump? From what I’m reading, he’s got to be better than President Deling.
He is. Deling is allied with the Sorceress and a cruel Galbadian dictator! Moving on…
He ate another Unwich which made him WakeUp tired. May the fourth be with you because Sundays are sacred again! After pizza leftovers and job stuff, he had a triple whammy Toastmasters Tuesday. And with silence and motion, it was time for weekend eve before an evaluation and a breath of fresh air.
Original Twin Muse: Funny you should mention air. I didn’t have a lot when I rescued you in outer space before we boarded the Ragnarok.
Neither did I. You saved my life! Time for another ten…
“Happy Mother’s Day!” he exclaimed before another NAMI, another Toastmasters, another job lead, another vacation, and another fun vacation day. The vacation then turned to day 3, followed by the last full day of vacation. Then he was home at last with the Midland Toastmasters open house the next day.
Original Twin Muse: So, you attend a club to help you speak better? I don’t like speeches, but everyone tells me that I speak well.
That’s good for you but I always need practice! Only 30 more for this set…
He had a recovery day and a release day. A Fri day before NESmorial Day weekend begins. With plenty of Sunday goodNES, the NESmorial Day reached a conclusion. And with the usual interruptions, the search continues. And with one day until the weekend, a job lead?
That’s it!
Original Twin Muse: Again, I am fully paid as a SeeD mercenary. You being unemployed is not my problem. It’s yours.
Yes, but I’m trying! Now that was rather cold, Shower! Could you be anymore insensitive?
Original Twin Muse: Insensitive? (I guess I was a little too harsh there…) Sorry. But at the end of the day, you have the power to give yourself a job. I can’t give you any of my Gil since your world doesn’t take it.
Thanks. Now we’re almost done…
After the welcome back and a yummy dinner, it was a refreshing Sunday. And then a screening day and a speaking day. A networking day and a graduation anniversary day. A grocery day and a movie day. He then shouted “Happy 65th Birthday, Mom!” before another workout…
Original Twin Muse: I’ve already done my workout today. A SeeD needs to stay in top physical shape. I mean, we need to be ready for anything…
Indeed we do! Just 10 more and we will be done!
With a money opportunity, it was time for tuna noodle casserole leftovers. Then it was pizza time before dinner and a movie. And with a relaxing weekend, it was time for Happy Father’s Day! And with a Monday finale, a finish line made for a normal Wednesday before he entered the Tower of Muses for the fortieth ascent.
Original Twin Muse: Wow. That was amazing. And that milestone was even more amazing. The only thing better than that is your kiss.
That’s right! That wasn’t just any old milestone. That was the 4000th entry! It really was extra special and I enjoyed that ride to the top.
Original Twin Muse: Wasn’t it fun? I enjoyed that ride with you, too.
Now where were we?
Original Twin Muse: We were on the eleven year anniversary. Only 19 more! We don’t have too much more to go…
I know. Are you ready?
Original Twin Muse: I’m ready. SeeD’s are always ready. Time to go and change…
And now everyone…The next metamorphosis! Everyone, be prepared for something truly original and twice as nice! It looks like they’re ready…
Original Muse: All changed! I’m ready to go now. Are you ready?
Original Twin Muse: So am I, twinnie! Are you ready, Kyle?
Absolutely. Brace yourself for part four of this epic homage to the entries of yesterday…
Original Muse: Oh! I’m so excited! Let’s go!
Original Twin Muse: Let’s do this!
It was ExperiMENTAL 4.0 with a friend day, a relax day, and a niece day. Then more searching before a job search meeting and a Thirst Day. Then Unday eve followed before the Unday begins. Then it was Saturday again.
Original Muse: Another Saturday?
Original Twin Muse: Impossible! There can only be one Saturday!
There is. I had to redeem it on Sunday since I spend half of it being away from home. Just nine more and we’re done!
It was Fiscal New Year’s Day with a short week before he went north for the Fourth. “Happy Independence Day!” and “Greetings from Hubbard Lake!” he shouted. He then had a summer post done quick with plenty of summer leftovers done quick. And with being back to the grind, there was no doubting with Me & My Muse at eleven years and counting.
Original Muse: Yay! We did it! I didn’t have much of a part to play in this since I was just there during Twins Days and the holidays. I did play Midnight Muse so that wasn’t easy to do. But she had no part in this number.
Original Twin Muse: Hooray! We’re done! I love my new spare body! As challenging as it was to play Shower, it was a whole lot of fun…The other form was enjoyable too…
I know. There were not a lot of forms with it being only half a year. And that performance was amazing. Anyway, that’s the tribute for this year.
Original Muse: I’m still beyond words. I had no idea that I was going to get a spare body.
Original Twin Muse: And then, we pulled off that flawless performance. Twin Muse and SeeD Muse. Changing into both forms was a lot of fun.
I imagine. Not a lot of costume changes…
Original Twin Muse: Yeah. It was easier this time.
Original Muse: And harder for me since I didn’t have a lot of lines!
But we pulled it off, and now you have a new spare body. Happy eleven-year anniversary!
Original Muse: You know, our relationship goes beyond Me & My Muse. Beyond these 4019 entries.
Original Twin Muse: It’s true. It goes beyond that!
Indeed it does. I first started to talk about you in a couple of Think & Writes.
Original Muse: Ah. But our relationship goes beyond that even. Actually, a really long time…
It does. When I first felt creativity inside of me, that was you, right?
Original Muse: It was. All the way back when you were in fourth grade. You wrote The Brick Building. Now granted I was there before that, but I was too young to nurture my own ideas. And you heard it from me first. It was back then when I first started to have a crush on you.
30 years? You’ve had a crush on me for 30 years? And to be honest, I think that you were with me before I even started writing.
Original Muse: You’re right. I was there when you made up all those games when you were little. Where did you get the ideas? That was me. Hee hee! But I first started paying more attention to you when I was ten…
Twin Muse: I was there too! I’m your fun side!
Original Muse: And I’m your bookish and more creative side!
I agree. You two and I go way back. All the way back to when my imagination first started taking form…
Original Muse: You were just a baby…
But aren’t we all? That’s where imagination starts. But when adulthood happens, a lot of that is lost…
Original Muse: You’re the lucky one. You still have me. And your imagination is never going to die. I’ll be sure of it!
Here’s to eleven years of these, right?
Original Muse: To eleven years, and many more! You started with something ExperiMENTAL but look at where we are now!
I know…
*kisses Original Muse and Twin Muse on the lips*
I still love the daily format. That is not changing. For shorter or longer, it’s staying the same.
Original Muse: I’m going to enjoy my new spare body. Come to my house when you’re ready…
Original Twin Muse: I’m going to enjoy my ONLY spare body. Come by when you’re able, okay?
You want me to pin you to the floor with a bunch of kisses, right?
Original Muse: *gives me a kiss on the lips* Yeah. *chuckles* See you around…
Original Twin Muse: *kisses me on the lips* Just make sure that I get a turn too, twinnie!
Original Muse: Oh, you will! It’s called sharing!
Original Twin Muse: Uh huh! Last one to the house is a rotten Muse!
Original Muse: You’re on!
So there you have it. Eleven years of this experiment. An experiment where I said that if it doesn’t work, you will never see one of these again. 4018 of them later (minus the ones that I never made during my COVID hiatus), I believe that they’re here to stay. This is an experiment that I have no regrets in starting at all. But before I continue, some ground rules.
In very much the same fashion as last year, I’m retiring rant posts forever. If there is ever any reason why I should be angry, it should not be expressed here. I want this blog to be a resource to everyone, and full of positive posts. If I am ever having a rough day, I will let you know, but I won’t express my negative feelings on this site anymore. None of you want to read that and I feel like it doesn’t do anything constructive. If it must go somewhere, it should be in a private journal, where the only reader is me, and not all of you.
My Muse is here to stay, and so is Twin Muse. If for some reason you still don’t like either Muse, there are plenty of other websites to go to, besides this one. My Muse is an expression of my inner longing for a significant other and my seamstress of creativity. My Twin Muse is the fun side that loves video games.
The high for today is going to be 86 degrees and the silver lining is celebrating eleven years of this experiment.
To all who had the patience to read this, I congratulate you.
Now if you would excuse me. I need to go and talk to my Muse…in private…
