That’s pretty much this day in a nutshell.  I applied for a job and went to a NAMI meeting.  That’s pretty much it.

Today’s high is going to be 80 degrees and the silver lining was going to tonight’s NAMI meeting.

*Meanwhile, Shower rescues Kyle in space and Squall does the same for Rinoa.  Two Ragnarok space ships are in the distance and each pair boards one.  After purging the aliens on the ship, both Shower and Kyle enter the cockpit*

Whoa! Awesome!

Shower: (Wait a second.  I’m actually going to have to fly this?)

*I approach the control panel*

Shower, listen.  It’s trying to communicate to us.

Shower: (Wait!  Is there a volume control?  Here we go…)

Voice: This is Esthar Airstation.

Shower: (What I’m hearing…)

Voice: Ragnarok, do you read? Ragnarok, do you read!?

Shower: (…is a radio signal.  Should I respond?)

Voice: This is Airstation. Do you copy?

Shower: Wait.  So this ship is actually the Ragnarok?

Voice: “Whoa! Is this really the Ragnarok? You’re in space, right?”

Shower: Well yeah, I know that.  However, I have no idea where we’re at right now…

Voice: Roger that! We can track you from here.

Shower: (So wait.  We’re actually going to be able to go home?)

Voice: Ragnarok… It’s been 17 years!

Shower: Are we going to be able to make it back?

Voice: Leave it to us! You should have enough fuel. Enter your location into the atmospheric reentry program and you’ll be ok. Once you enter the atmosphere, we can guide you down. You’ll be just fine.

Shower: So how do I enter this?  It’s just a bunch of buttons…

Voice: No sweat. We’ll take this step by step. Are you in the pilot seat?

Shower: Um, pilot seat?  Which one?  Any one of these seats could be the pilot seat!

Voice: It’s the one on the right. Go sit there.

*Shower takes a seat*

Shower: Alright.  I’m in the seat now!

Voice: See the touch panel in front of you?

Shower: Yeah.  It’s that panel, right?

Voice: The rest is easy. Just enter the following data.

Shower: I’m ready.  Go right on ahead.

Voice: WJHEIE/…

Shower: It’s entered!

Voice: Then… 2872/HD-IEU

Shower: It’s also entered!

Voice: No errors?

Shower: I don’t see any.  I think we’re good.

Voice: Next, I’m sure you’re ok, but there’s something I need you to do. Turn off the gravity generator. This should save some fuel. Use the same touch panel to turn it off.

Shower: Okay. (The same buttons?  Okay.  I pressed them.)  They’re pressed!

Voice: Congratulations. You’re home free, Ragnarok. And… There’s one more thing we need to tell you. From all of us at Ground Control, we wish you godspeed.

Shower: Oh.  Thank you very much!

*Shower turns off the gravity and I float up*

Whoa!  Huh?!

*I jump into Shower’s lap*

Shower: Um, Kyle?  I need you to go and sit over there.  We’re going to make a landing so I need you to put your seatbelt on.

Are we going to be home soon?

Shower: I’m hoping that we will.  Now go sit down, okay?

All of these times that I saved you.  You finally did it.  You actually saved me!  Can I sit in your lap just a little longer?

Shower: Whoa, Kyle!  Why are you leeching onto me like this?  What’s wrong?

So let me get this straight, Shower.  You don’t like this?

Shower: Well, I do admit that it feels nice.  I’m just not that used to it, okay?

What about when you were just a child?  Didn’t you feel safe and secure when you were held by your parents?

Shower: (My parents?  I don’t remember a thing.  Just a orphanage…)  I’m sorry, Kyle.  I don’t have any memory of my parents.  I do remember that Ellone was there.  She was always there for me and she held my hand.

Did she make you feel safe and secure, Shower?

Shower: Well, of course she did!  But after a while, she just left me.  She disappeared.  I’m just afraid.  I’m afraid of having that feeling of warmth and comfort taken away from me again…

Are you afraid of losing any one of us?  Is that why you kept your distance?

Shower: Kyle, I was always by myself, with no one around…

Shower, you missed out on everything.  All of the wonderful good things in your life.  You missed so much…

Shower: Well…Maybe?

I definitely think that you did.  But do you know what?  I really like it like this.  I loved having my mom hold me.  And also my dad, when we got along…

Shower: But Kyle! I am NOT your mom or your dad.

Well, I don’t expect you to be.  Shower, it’s just that you’re the one that gives me the most comfort right now.  Comfort and happiness…And also some annoyance and disappointment, too!

Shower: …Whatever.
Whatever!

Shower: Kyle, I really think that you should get back to your seat now.

C’mon.  Can I just sit a little bit longer?

Shower:  (Kyle, you would be much safer if you sat down in your seat.)

We are going to make it home, right?

Shower: At this point, all we can do is hope.

And when we get back, I don’t think that we’re going to stay together, right?

Shower: Perhaps…No one knows anything about the future.  We can’t have any guarantees.  Those were the words that you told me, Kyle.

But that’s not what I meant, Shower!

Shower: We’ll just have to figure everything out when we get back.

Everyone is going to be mad at me!

Shower: Mad?  Why would they be mad?

Voice: This is Airstation. Ragnarok, please respond.

Shower: This is the Ragnarok.  Is there anything that you needed?

Voice: “We have some questions for you. We’re collecing escape pods. We have a good idea of what happened. I hear no one from Lunar Base is on the Ragnarok. How many of you are there?”

Shower: There’s just two of us.

Voice: …… Your names?

Shower: Shower. I’m a SeeD from Balamb Garden.

Voice: And the other?

Shower: …Kyle.

Voice: Kyle? The sorcerer!? He’s on the ship!?

Shower: (So wait… It’s actually true? Kyle is a sorcerer? I wonder if this was Ultimecia’s doing…)

I have become a sorcerer while I was in space. I’m very sorry but I can’t stay with you anymore, Shower.  It would be too dangerous for everyone…

Voice: Respond, Ragnarok!

I don’t want anything to do with the future.  I just want the present to last forever…I want to stay right here with you…

Shower: (Kyle…)

Voice: Respond, Ragnarok!

No one is going to want to be around me anymore…They’ll try to fight me like they did with Edea…

Voice: The sorceress will be seized upon arrival. Be sure to follow the crew’s instructions.

Shower, I’m…scared.  Very…scared…

Voice: Shower, do you copy? Is the sorceress listening, too?

Shower, I’m very scared.  I don’t wanna go back to earth…

*everything fades to black*

Shower: (I have no idea what to do right now…This is another one of those forks in the road that I have come across.  But for the first time ever, I don’t have any idea which path I am supposed to take.  I have only been able to make it this far because it has happened…I have completely fallen head over heels in love with you.) ……Kyle…… What am I going to do?…Am I just supposed to let you go after all we have been through?
