Me & My Muse – Day 2577: A Day for Healing…

It turns out that today has become a day to address a reoccurring problem at night.  Falling back asleep.

Before I get to that, I will share my discussion with my mom and dad last night.  I told them that I was feeling down, and she was very understanding.  Because of this, she suggested that I go and visit their house to check on the cat to cheer me up.  She also mentioned that I was welcome to visit them anytime when they are home.  I graciously welcomed their warmth and love. I also asked about how dad was doing with the chemo, and my mom said that he was doing okay.  Just taking each day a day at a time.  She also mentioned that she will have to cook for my brother and I again.

I thanked mom for that and I had my dinner. I then left to go to mom and dad’s to visit the cat after my brother got home.  My mom called right before I got to their place.  I called her back and we talked some more.  I showed them the cat on the video call and I did them a favor in getting their trash out to the road, along with the cat litter that I scooped up.  I gave Lucy treats and I gave her a good pet.  I then closed the discussion, telling her that I loved her.  I went to the gas station and bought a couple Reeses Crunchy cookie cups.  One for me and one for my brother.  I took them home and I unwinded.  I then went to a bible study on 1 Samuel and asked for prayer.  This is a trying time in my life and I appreciate everyone’s support.  As what I read in John Ortberg’s “Everybody’s Normal Till You Get to Know Them”, I need others to carry my mat, and trust that they won’t drop it.  I want to carry other people’s mats too, but God knows what I can carry right now.

Getting back to the sleep problem, I got up and changed my security on Fidelity.  I then called in sick so that I can take care of this sleep problem.  I showered, ate breakfast, and tried out Teladoc.  It turned out that I needed to set up my account before I could use it.  After setting up my account, I was given a doctor with virtually no wait time.  Her name was Dr. Laura Hershorin, and I explained my problem to her.  She recommended the usual remedy.  Do some cardiovascular exercise, take 10-15 milligrams of Melatonin before bed, and drink a cup of sleepy tea.  I will try this regimen for a few nights and see how I do with it.

I am now going to post on the message boards and head to the store to get the medical supplies to help me with my sleep.  I will exercise a little later and I’ll check in with my friend as well.  I will call my parents later regarding my sleep problem and calling in.  Later on, I will watch a movie to unwind, take my tea and Melatonin, and go to bed.

Today’s high is going to be 84 degrees and the silver lining is having a day to heal from this sleeping problem.

To those of you who have had trouble falling asleep before, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Hang in there, Kyle.  Get plenty of exercise and follow the doctor’s orders, okay?
