Well, I told her and she’s on her way. My Muse is on her way to the Tower of Muses for a special “surprise”. I didn’t tell her what the “surprise” is, but she’s really excited about it. All I told her was that a “surprise” was waiting for her on the top floor of the Tower of Muses…
The surprise, you ask? As a Me & My Muse anniversary gift, I have decided to provide her with her own body. Laying on the bed is a Muse that is ready to come to life. All she needs to do is go inside it.
Muse (Day 1599): When is she going to get here? When she does she’ll see that her surprise is larger than life…
Muse (Day 1697): Is she here yet? I want her to come! I am so excited!
Muse (Day 1701): Relax, peanut. She’ll be here soon. I just know she will…
Everyone. Relax. She’s on her way. Until she arrives, you all have to hide.
*a flood of “okay’s” are heard in the room*
While my Muse is on her way, I might as well tell everyone my plans for today. I will be working and then relaxing afterward. It won’t be so bad having just enjoyed a whole weekend…
Shh! Everyone in your places! She’s on her way…
*dims light in room, until it turns off*
Muse: What’s going on? What is the meaning of this? Why is everything so dark in here? Kyle?
Me & 1826 Muses: SURPRISE!!!! HAPPY FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!
Muse: Oh wow! There’s a bunch of Muses in here! One from every past day, I’m guessing.
And…Did you look on the bed yet?
Muse: What is this? A Muse that is laying lifeless on the bed?
Guess. What do you think it is?
Muse: Wait! Isn’t it another body? You gave me one last year!
Happy anniversary. It’s another body! You can never have enough bodies. What if something happens to the one you are in? That body will not come to life unless you give it life. It is yours. Do you want to try it out?
Muse: Why not? Well I’m trying out my body right now!
*Ghost Muse flies out of Muse and into lifeless Muse, which begins to flash*
Original Muse: It…It feels…A little different. This is a good gift! What if something happens to the one that you gave me last year? With this one, I can be prepared. Thank you, Kyle!
*Original Muse gives me a big hug with her new body*
I have another thing planned. All the other Muses, enjoy the show!
Original Muse: Show? Oh yeah…(The spare body was a big surprise, but I knew about the show…)
Are you ready?
Original Muse: I was born ready. Time to get into costume…
Then let’s get started. Muses, take your places. Here we go…
This is a tribute to every entry that has been done in the past year. I wrote this just for you. I hope you’re ready, because here it goes…
It continued with plenty of MonNES and a Brain Freeze. At 7-Eleven, it was the fifth part followed by a Wednesday Whirlwind. There was a Green Haircut, now with 79% more humidity! It was Friday just in time for a Sunny Saturday and a Sunday Respite. And with a Palindrome Monday that about does it!
Original Muse: And this coffee really hits the spot!
And I’m quite sorry, miss. Coffee *sip* is still NOT for Muses!
Original Muse: It may not be, but it’s certainly for Jedi masters…
No it’s not!
Original Muse: Says who?
Says me!
Original Muse: Says you?
That does it!
Original Muse: That does what?
Be quiet!
Original Muse: Do I get a second chance to speak?
What did I tell you? I need to finish!
Original Muse: But you’ll never end!
Yes I will!
Original Muse: Whatever!
Don’t believe me?
Original Muse: I don’t believe you!
Liar!
Original Muse: But I’m telling the truth!
No you’re not!
Original Muse: Yes I am!
No you’re not!
Original Muse: Yes I am!
Just drop it!
Original Muse: You drop it!
Shut your trap!
Original Muse: Shut yours!
Can I finish?
Original Muse: No you can’t!
Are you done?
Original Muse: I just got started!
Well, I’m not finished!
Original Muse: Says who?
Says me!
Original Muse: Yeah right!
Let me…
Original Muse: FINISH!!! Tee hee…
It was a Toasty Tuesday with a quick version of Wednesday. And with Friday eve leading to fryday, there was A New Hope. A Sunday screening had plenty of spinach dip & crackers. 60 years is a long time for a Toastmasters club. And with a long day at work, he was ready for a quick start.
Original Muse: I’m ready for a quick start!
Interrupting me again?
Original Muse: Yup yup yup!
Stop stop stop!
Original Muse: No no no!
What did I tell you? I need to finish!
Original Muse: But you’ll never end!
Yes I will!
Original Muse: Whatever!
Don’t believe me?
Original Muse: I don’t believe you!
Liar!
Original Muse: But I’m telling the truth!
No you’re not!
Original Muse: Yes I am!

LET ME FINISH!! Really. This is getting old…
Original Muse: I’m glad it is. Tee hee!
A Fantastic Finish led to Weekend WarmNES. And after more solitude, he was dressed for success leading to his third meeting in a row. And with the calm before the storm, he was northward bound. He sent his greetings from Hubbard Lake with a second version. And with him being back home, he was done with his excursion.
Original Muse: Help!
What is it?
Original Muse: I’m trapped.
You’re trapped?
Original Muse: In this endless tribute.
But we’re almost done!
Original Muse: No! Almost a tenth done!
No. That’s another ten.
Original Muse: Another ten?
Interrupting me again?
Original Muse: Yup yup yup!
Stop stop stop!
Original Muse: No no no!
What did I tell you? I need to finish!
Original Muse: But you’ll never end!
Yes I will!
Original Muse: Whatever!
Don’t believe me?
Original Muse: I don’t believe you!

Can I finish?
Original Muse: No you can’t!
Are you done?
Original Muse: I just got started!
Well, I’m not finished!
Original Muse: Says who?
Says me!
Original Muse: Yeah right!
LET ME FINISH!!!!!! Please! We’re almost done…
Original Muse: With this number, we are! Tee hee…
With a NESday Monday, he had a change of plans. A Wednesday summary led him to go EAST, and then north. And after birthday eve, he had a happy birthday, followed by an aftermath and a good afternoon. And after a Mid-August Toast, he entered the Tower of Muses again for the fifteenth ascent.
Original Muse: What’s inside?
You know what!
Original Muse: I can’t remember!
You can’t?
Original Muse: I’m trapped.
You’re trapped?
Original Muse: In this endless tribute.
But we’re almost done!
Original Muse: No! Almost a tenth done!
Yup. That’s right now.
Original Muse: Right now?
Interrupting me again?
Original Muse: Yup yup yup!
Stop stop stop!
Original Muse: No no no!
What did I tell you? I need to finish!
Original Muse: But you’ll never end!
Yes I will!
Original Muse: Whatever!
Don’t believe me?
Original Muse: I don’t believe you!
Liar!
Original Muse: But I’m telling the truth!
No you’re not!
Original Muse: Yes I am!

Now we’re finished!
Original Muse: Awesome! That was great! Just like we rehearsed! Only I have this awesome new spare body that you gave me and like last year, I don’t have to worry about being a ghost anymore! Time to switch into my next costume! I’ll be right back…
And now everyone…the metamorphosis! Everyone, brace yourself for a Muse that’s larger than life!
Original Muse: All changed. Are we ready, Kyle?
Ready as I’ll ever be! Get ready for part two because here it comes…
She had growing pains during a Fun Friday. And after more Saturday GoodNES, there was a good Sunday Start. A total eclipse brought the calm after the storm. And after being finally home, the polar opposite led to a different Friday and a Chicago Wedding.
Original Muse: That wedding was fun. How are they by the way?
They are actually doing pretty well. Moving on…
There were greetings from Tinley Park. And after a Manic Monday, he opened up to say AHHHHHH! There was then a green haircut – the brief Wednesday edition. And a Thursday brief led to Friday chex mix and Saturday Sushi. The countdown begins until Labor Day NESday. And it all culminated with a September Toast.
Original Muse: You mean Toastmasters, right? Wonderful job with the arranging!
Thank you. Next!
Whensday began with a September prelude and a Friday respite. A Saturday Start drew toward a Short Sunday. 9/11 was a day that I still never forget, with a Tired Tuesday right in the middle of the day before Friday. And with Friday there at last, TGIF.
Muse: Don’t you just love Fridays?
Yes. I do. Phew! *drinks a glass of water* Ahem…
There was more sun on Saturday: Part II. It was a good start with plenty of time for inspiration. And it’s over with a Summer Outro. And a Fryday NESday led to a Saturday Sketch, with time to write and a lot more writing.
Original Muse: Writing’s always good. Keep at it!
I surely will. Moving on…
With the last day of Summer, it was back to Fall. With a different Thursday, he was waiting for 2:00 PM on Friday. The weekend begins and the weekend ends, with Monday GoodNES debuting its Fall Edition. The Green Haircut had its Fall Finale. And in just two more days, it’s coming.
Original Muse: I’ll say. I’m about to experience a huge growth spurt.
You’re going to outgrow the size of the earth, right?
Original Muse: Yup.
Time for the second half…
She was living large in a different place. LEGO my Ninjago movie with plenty of time on a dreamy Tuesday. And with another one down, it was a Thursday failure caused by Friggatriskaideka…what? And with another weekend, there was another Sunday.
*sips a glass of water* Next page…
A change of plans led to another Toast. A Wednesday brief made me shout hurry up, Friday! Friday’s here with another break and worship night. Monday Mole Day led to Tuesday NESday, with two more months until Christmas begins.
Original Muse: Where did you go, Kyle? All I see are galaxies now.
Well, of course you would. That’s all you can see as big as you are. Moving on…
I got an earful of Odyssey? Yessy! A Pre-Halloween Weekend led to a quick finish. And with a Halloween checklist, he asked Trick or Treat? He was on fumes before another Friday prelude. And with that, it was Friday at last with another Weekend Wrapup.
Original Muse: And speaking of wrap-ups, we’re almost done with this set.
We are! On to the next ten…
After breakfast with my relatives, the green haircut returned with a sequel. It was the Fall Finale, for realz this time! A stupid update led to smooth NES. A Thursday meeting made for a productive pay day. A shivering Saturday created more shopping and NES Day shopping. And after all that, he said phew!
Original Muse: Phew indeed! I’m almost the size of the universe!
Wow! You are! Let’s talk more later. Moving on…
He was wrapping up Wednesday with old fashioned pizza. He was on a roll with five days until the holidays. And with Saturday: Part II, he had a marvelous meeting. It led to a Pre-Thanksgiving Toast with Thanksgiving Eve just ahead. He shouted “Happy Thanksgiving!” and he shopped till he dropped. Then he entered the Tower of Muses once again for the sixteenth ascent.
Original Muse: Once again, that was splendid. All in one take, too! We only have 227 to go!
Wait? I can only hear your voice! 227 is right. We need to get moving.
Original Muse: You can only hear my voice? It’s this costume! I’m bigger than the universe with it on! I need to change out of it! 227 to go! Let’s do this! Now if you would excuse me, I need to change into my next costume…
And now everyone…The next metamorphosis! Everyone, be prepared for a little child’s play! It looks like she’s ready…
Original Muse: All changed! I did it by myself without any help! Ready?
Absolutely. Brace yourself for part three of this epic homage to the entries of yesterday…
Original Muse: Oh! I’m so excited! Let’s go!
She was not KIDding when the Christmas music started playing. He clicked till he dropped while singing “O Christmas Tree”. There was a tour and a meeting on a chill day that led to a phew day. Work or leisure? The latter was decided with more Christmas shopping and a change of pace.
Original Muse: Kyle!!!!
Oh no! You peed through your diaper and dress! Everyone, I’ll be right back.
*one diaper change later*
All set?
Original Muse: Yeah!
Alright then. Moving onward…
He was wrapping things up with a quick start. An easy shift and a meeting created demand for 66 breads. After following the star, we were all shoveled with more footage and a possible friend visit. It made an ice Cold NESday. That was snow problem since The Last Jedi begins tonight.
Original Muse: And I’m seeing it with you!
You can! Let’s move on…
With a Jedi hangover, it was time for Christmas movies, more footage and a NESday. And with more Christmas memories, there was a Christmas footage marathon. And with more footage and a Christmas Toast, it led to a long day. With a Christmas haircut, it led to the true meaning of Christmas. “All Aboard!” The conductor shouted as he approached the day before Christmas.
Well?
Original Muse: I want Christmas! Can it be Christmas yet?
Not yet. It’s about another five and a half months away. Let’s continue…
“Merry Christmas!” he shouted to all. The aftermath followed and it was time for fun. The end of year checklist led to the end of year Friday Finale. He was closing up the year with Happy New Year! Then he started off tired with the first Toast of the year and more snow.
Original Muse: More snow? Can we build a snowman? Please?
We can in a moment. Another ten out of the way. *sips water* Time for the next ten…
There was a mountain of inventory and then BRRR!!! It’s Friday! The Saturday was full of shivering with warmer conditions ahead. With the store having five parts of under construction, the questions were asked. Where is my work space? Where is my sink? Where are the workers? They were turning up the heat with a Saturday breakfast.
Original Muse: I love breakfast. I think I’ll get some!
Go ahead! Moving on…
It was a cold Sunday with two meetings and a surprise NES visit. More remodeling and more groceries led to a clean bathroom with a January prelude. There was a Friday brief with an extended weekend. And the sickness continues with DayQuil and NyQuil. An evening dough shift followed.
Original Muse: And I’m playing with play-doh!
Nice. Time for another ten…
A morning dough shift led to a morning dough marathon. Wait a minute. It’s Friday? Then there was fun in Frankenmuth with the marathon set. A city, an invention, an airplane, a fish, a borrower all assembled in a castle.
Original Muse: Can I join them?
Go ahead. Only 30 more for this set…
He cleaned up at a bathhouse to see Super Bowl Large – Part II. There was a snow day aftermath with a February Toast to follow. After it was time to relax, there was a Thursday headache. And then, it’s Friday? Snow way! A Saturday to relax made him say snow no, leading to a Monday Mishap.
That’s it!
Original Muse: Okay! Can I go play now?
Yes, you can. We’re almost done…
With Mardi Gras and a friend meeting tonight, it was happy Hallmark day, making him singled out with a Friday short. There was Saturday stuff before shifting to Sunday. And some Monday goodNES before a Torrential Tuesday. Sunny skies and car get was wonderful with new insurance.
Original Muse: In-sure-ants? Where are they?
No. Insurance. It’s an adult thing.
Original Muse: Oh. Okay! Back to my dollhouse…
Just 10 more and we will be done!
With a new weekend, it was a super Saturday that was so windy. In a nutshell, there’s another short one with a ghost of a chance. Phew! Thursday! Then it was the end of the week. And after a Saturday aftermath, he entered the Tower of Muses for the seventeenth ascent.
Original Muse: I’m done playing and I’m tired! Can I go take a nap?
How about you go and change instead? Change into that Iron Muse outfit, okay? Come out and show me when you’re done! Are you ready?
Original Muse: Yeah! I wanna be a superhero! I’m going to change now!
Okay. Let me know when you’re done!
Original Muse: I will!
And now everyone…The next form! Everyone, get ready for an iron clad superhero…
Original Muse: All ready. I even polished the suit before I got out here. Actually, J.A.N.U.S. did that. All I did was give her a direct order. Are you ready for wonderful demonstration of my engineering prowess?
Yes. I’m ready. Brace yourself for part four of this epic homage to the entries of yesterday…
Iron Muse made her debut and now I’m tired of winter. A wet Wednesday saved the day with snow more. Can I enjoy my Friday now? “It’s-a me, MAR10!” a familiar voice answered, as he said “Happy Birthday, dad” and began springing ahead. And after a simple start, he opened up to say AHHHHHHH!!!! And that made that day as easy as pi.
Original Muse: Pi, huh? I know at least 10,000 places. J.A.N.U.S. knows beyond a trillion.
I don’t know a lot of places. All I know is that pie is good. So many flavors…
Original Muse: When you put it that way. That kind of pie is delicious.
Indeed it is. Let’s move on, okay?
It’s not quite Friday yet, with Friday Fun and a lucky day. It was an easy Sunday with work making it feel like a happy Friday. A stressful day led to March Madness – Part III. And after a chill day, it was time to say TGIF! OH YEAH! This heralded SaturNESday.
Original Muse: Why do you have NES in the middle of Saturday?
Oh. It’s an “in” joke between me and my friend. Since he used to come over on Wednesdays, we placed emphasis on the word NES, since we like to play video games. On days that were not Wednesday, I added NES to the day regardless.
Original Muse: Oh. It’s kind of the same thing that I do with J.A.N.U.S. I have all kinds of “in” jokes that would take hours for me to explain. I mean, there’s just such a long story that goes with each one…
Please don’t explain them. Moving on to the next ten…
After Palm Sunday respite, now we’re cooking! Phew was said in the middle of the week. It was already Thursday, with Good Friday leading to the Me & My Muse Series Finale. Me & My Muse video debuted with NO WAE! Happy Easter was shouted before April madness began. When the dust settled, it was time for an April Toast.
Original Muse: April Toast? I’m going to guess that it’s Toastmasters.
It is. Time to move on. We still have 97…
We all know that April snow brings May…nevermind! And after a rough Thursday, he was not out of the woods yet. With the weekend starting a day later, TGIS was proclaimed. And after Sunday solitude, he was a little tired. It was phewday NESday before the middle of the week. Then a Summer preview before a Friday short.
Original Muse: I don’t like my Friday’s to be short. They need to be longer.
Unfortunately, you would have to slow down the rotation of the earth to do that. The best thing you can do is to take more vacation days off.
Original Muse: Yes. You can’t make a day longer but you can make your vacation longer.
Indeed. Shall we continue now?
After a power outage, Spring needs to hurry. Cooking time was in question and good things are coming with Survivor night and a job offer. Friday goodNES followed with relief at last. Farewell weekend and good night!
Original Muse: I am so happy that you got that job. It’s a step up from where you were.
Step? I would call it a giant leap.
Original Muse: Leap then. No matter what it is, I’m still so happy for you.
So am I. 77 more and we’ll be finished. Let’s continue…
With a change of plans, he was cutting to the chase, the Infinity War began, which sparked the Power of Change. He gave his greetings from Grand Rapids before the Spring Conference recap. He was busy and tired. They were turning up the heat for the anniversary dinner and the Toastmaster District 62 Conference Aftermath.
Original Muse: So, you gave the recap twice? Now that’s redundant.
No. If you were to look, I did not give the recap that day. I only gave it once. Time to move on.
May the fourth be with you with Cinco de NESday just ahead. And now it’s Sunday with the green haircut making its May debut. And with four more days, he was almost there. It was last day eve followed by the TGIF farewell edition. And now I’m tired, he said before wishing mothers everywhere “Happy Mother’s Day!”
Original Muse: Aren’t you glad that you’re not there anymore?
I am. More than seven years is a long time for food. Anyway, we’re on a roll. Let’s keep going…
Day one stuff led to the second day on the job. And after a busy NESday, there was a Thursday update, which resulted in week one being complete. The weekend begins, followed by the end of the weekend. The tux is all paid off, with TuesNESday before the middle of the week.
Original Muse: That was a pretty good first week. Let’s cut to the chase and continue. I haven’t even showed off all the good features on this suit yet.
We will do that. Time for the next ten…
He had one more day and then Memorial Day weekend is here. The weekend begins, with him being right in the middle. The Age of Musetron began, and then it was back to work. He was working out, wondering where has this week gone? The weekend is here and it was a breath of fresh air.
Original Muse: That reminds me. I need to get this suit off soon so I can have some fresh air…
Worry not. After 10 more, you will be able to.
Original Muse: Continue. I’m ready to get this suit off.
Time for the next ten! Only 37 remain in this special one-year tribute…
After budgeting and multiplication, he was starting up quicken. He was then starting up Toastmasters and found out that he was halfway already. “Start your engines!” he shouted as the weekend begins. With a birthday and an open house, there was a day of respite. And after another conference, he entered the Tower of Muses for the eighteenth ascent.
Original Muse: Splendid! Just splendid! All that rehearsing really paid off!
That’s right! Now we need to move on.
Original Muse: Indeed we do! Only 27 more and we’ll be done! We still have a little bit to go…
I know. Are you ready?
Original Muse: But of course. It looks like I’ll be some kind of aquatic being. Time to change into my next outfit!
And now everyone…The next form! Everyone, get ready for the Muse Mermaid…
Original Muse: All ready! Let’s get this done so that I can get back in the water. Here. I’m going to dive into this little pool for now, okay?
Okay.
Original Muse: Are you ready?
Yes I am. Time to end this final set. This is it. The fifth and final part in this epic tribute to all of the entries that I have written in the past year…
The Little Mermuse swam right in when it was almost Friday to the finish line. It was a quiet day at home and he shouted “Happy Father’s Day!”. Wedding week began with more meetings and a busy day. And the Wedding rehearsal led to wedding eve.
Original Muse: I’m so glad that they’re together!
So am I! Anyway, moving right along…
My sister’s wedding had plenty of wedding leftovers. After a happy work day, he was crazy about cars. It was time for a NES day and then there was one. A hot finale led to a summer post done quick. And after Fiscal New Year’s Day, it was time to begin a short week.
Original Muse: Speaking of short, we’re almost done! How many do we have left?
Just seven! We’re very close! On to the last seven in this special tribute…
After Fourth of July Eve, it was Happy Independence Day with some leftover fireworks the day after. He gave his greetings from Hubbard Lake and was then back home. He’s having sushi for realz this time and that’s no doubting with Me & My Muse at five years and counting.
Original Muse: Yay! We did it! As challenging as it was to play as Child Muse, it was a whole lot of fun…The other forms were enjoyable too…
I know. And that performance was amazing. Anyway, that’s the tribute for this year.
Original Muse: I’m still beyond words. I had no idea that I was going to get a spare body. And then, we pulled off that flawless performance. Jedi Muse, Giant Muse, Child Muse, Iron Muse, and Mermaid Muse. Changing into all those forms was a lot of fun.
I imagine. There were so many costume changes…
Original Muse: Yeah. It was quite the workout. Form after form after form after form after form! That was hard!
But we pulled it off, and now you have a new spare body. Happy five-year anniversary!
Original Muse: You know, our relationship goes beyond Me & My Muse. Beyond these 1827 entries.
Indeed it does. I first started to talk about you in a couple of Think & Writes.
Original Muse: Ah. But our relationship goes beyond that even. Actually, a really long time…
It does. When I first felt creativity inside of me, that was you, right?
Original Muse: It was. All the way back when you were in fourth grade. You wrote The Brick Building. Now granted I was there before that, but I was too young to nurture my own ideas. And you heard it from me first. It was back then when I first started to have a crush on you.
24 years? You’ve had a crush on me for 24 years? And to be honest, I think that you were with me before I even started writing.
Original Muse: You’re right. I was there when you made up all those games when you were little. Where did you get the ideas? That was me. Hee hee! But I first started paying more attention to you when I was ten…
I agree. You and I go way back. All the way back to when my imagination first started taking form…
Original Muse: You were just a baby…
But aren’t we all? That’s where imagination starts. But when adulthood happens, a lot of that is lost…
Original Muse: You’re the lucky one. You still have me. And your imagination is never going to die. I’ll be sure of it!
Here’s to five years of these, right?
Original Muse: To five years, and many more! You started with something ExperiMENTAL, but look at where we are now!
I know…
*kisses Original Muse on the lips*
I still love the daily format. That is not changing. For shorter or longer, it’s staying the same.
Original Muse: I’m going to enjoy my new spare body. Come to my house when you’re ready…
You want me to pin you to the floor with a bunch of kisses, right?
Original Muse: *gives me a kiss on the lips* Yeah. *chuckles* See you around…
So there you have it. Five years of this experiment. An experiment where I said that if it doesn’t work, you will never see one of these again. 1827 of them later, I believe that they’re here to stay. This is an experiment that I have no regrets in starting at all. But before I continue, some ground rules.
In very much the same fashion as last year, I’m retiring rant posts forever. If there is ever any reason why I should be angry, it should not be expressed here. I want this blog to be a resource to everyone, and full of positive posts. If I am ever having a rough day, I will let you know, but I won’t express my negative feelings on this site anymore. None of you want to read that and I feel like it doesn’t do anything constructive. If it must go somewhere, it should be in a private journal, where the only reader is me, and not all of you.
My Muse is here to stay. If for some reason you still don’t like my Muse, there are plenty of other websites to go to, besides this one. My Muse is an expression of my inner longing for a significant other and my seamstress of creativity.
The high for today is going to be 90 degrees and the silver lining is celebrating five years of this experiment.
To all who had the patience to read this, I congratulate you.
Now if you would excuse me. I need to go and talk to my Muse…in private…
