Today was pretty straightforward and easy. At work, my day started early. I put the delivery away like usual. After that, I made 10 batches of dough. And with an army of people working today, Wednesday was a cinch. Between this store and the other store, there is plenty of labor, keeping all of us busy the whole time.
For tonight, I have ideation and a conference call after that. These will happen every week until the weekend of the conference, making this the norm for now.
I will now get ready for…
*gets teleported to Muse’s bathroom by Muse*
Muse: I can’t do it!
Nurture: Yes you can, honey! You did it once this morning. Keep sitting on the potty until you make it.
Muse: But I didn’t do it!
Nurture: You don’t have to make it to the potty every time. Just try to. You will get better at it.
Muse: It too hard!
Nurture: Just keep trying, dear. It’s not going to happen the same day.
Muse: I don’t wanna!
Is there a reason why I’m in here?
Nurture: Muse must have teleported you here again. Musie dear, please stop teleporting Kyle. It’s not nice.
Muse: But I like Kyle!
Nurture: You can talk to him later, okay? (To me) I’m very sorry. She just got up from her nap and is bummed that she didn’t make it to the potty.
And she only made it once?
Nurture: Yes. This morning, when she first got up. I was so proud of her! She woke me up, shouting “Mommy! I gotta go potty!” So I took her to the bathroom and she made it just in time.
Well, keep encouraging her. I do want to see her as an adult.
Nurture: She is going to be an adult. I am not going to raise her forever.
You will have to if she fails to thrive…
Nurture: She’ll make it, Kyle. We’re already making progress today. Aren’t we, Musie?
Muse: I can’t do it mommy!
Nurture: Yes you can, dear. There were a lot of things that mommy couldn’t do. But you know what? Mommy kept trying. You will do it, honey.
Muse: (begins tearing up) No…
Nurture: There there. It will be okay… (To me) This is going to be a little while. Why don’t you finish getting ready for your ideation thing?
Okay. Good luck!
Nurture: Thank you. There there dear…
*Nurture sets Muse on her lap and pats her back*
Oh yeah…Before I go, she’s…24.75 months today. She’s 31 inches tall and she weighs 23 pounds. The height of a 16 month old and the weight of a 17 month old.
Nurture: Yup. I have her in 12/18 month clothing today and Size 4 diapers. She’ll be out of them soon. I have a good feeling.
Time to head back.
*teleports back to reality*
Whoa. Talk about a parenting moment! Anyway, time to get ready for ideation…
Today’s high is going to be 72 degrees and the silver lining is having ideation tonight.
To those of you who like professional improvement, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Nurture: There you go, honey. I got a new diaper on you. Let mommy know when you have to go, okay?
Muse: Okay…I go…POTTY!
Nurture: You’re going now? Musie!
Muse: I can’t do it mommy!
