Just how much snow did we get last night? Just take a look at this picture, and I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Okay. I’ll tell you. Between last night and this morning, we got a total of nine inches of snow.
To give you an idea of just how much that is, I shoveled the front driveway last night at around 6:00 p.m. This morning, at around 6:00 a.m., I had to shovel it again. Well, at least half of it, since I needed to leave for work. So I shoveled the half that I needed to get out, took off, and continued down Birchview without stopping. Noticing that there were no cars coming from either direction, I immediately turned onto Saginaw Road. I wasn’t about to get stuck at the end of the intersection. Birchview had deep trenches left from cars that had four-wheel drive. Having only front-wheel drive, this was my only ticket to get to work.
Once on Saginaw Road, I was driving on nothing but snow. But was nicely plowed snow, so getting stuck was a non-issue.
In summary, I blazed a trail at work. I finished nearly all the dough before my scheduled appointment. I went to the appointment and came back in the nick of time. It was about noon, and I worked until about 2:30 in the afternoon. I ate my lunch and came home.
At about that time, the sun was out, so most of the road coming back was all dry, with not a trace of snow to be found.
Fortunately, I didn’t have to do much shoveling today. But I did do my part last night and this morning.
Having gotten up so early, I am now starting to get tired. I think that I’ll take it easy for the rest of the day. All in all, the day has been pretty crazy with the snow and the schedule juggling at work.
Today’s high is going to be 31 degrees and the silver lining is having the rest of the day off.
To those of you who had to deal with the snow this morning, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: There’s so much snow outside, I think that I’ll make a snowman. Maybe a snowman army. Heh…
