Me & My Muse – Day 709: Time for Action

I have heard an important saying once:  “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

How many of you have goals in your life?  Whether it’s learning a new sport, finding a new hobby or finding a new job.  Do you have plan to make it happen?  If not, then you’re already on the road to failure.

I have a confession to make.  While my goal was to get my book written, it never happened.  Why?  There was no plan to make it happen.   Plans produce results.  Plans provide a way to measure your progress.  If I don’t have a plan to get a book published, then it’s no surprise that it hasn’t happened yet.

Muse:  Then you need to make a plan!

I was just getting to that.

Muse:  Just sit down and write one.  Make it step by step.  Write chapter 1, write chapter 2, write chapter 3, etc.

But I’m already past chapter 3.

Muse:  And I was just giving an example.  I know where you are with The Tale of Zachary Willowbrook: The School Years.

Where am I then?

Muse:  You are on Chapter 27, and you haven’t even touched it since March.  What happens next?  Zachary is in the middle of experiencing his “fifth” birthday and nothing else has happened since.

Well, to be technical, he’s 20, but his slow aging has him at five years old.

Muse:  Did you see the quotes?  I am well aware of this.  Getting back on subject, you were talking about plans.

I was just going to say that I need to work on a plan.  To everyone else, I advise that you do the same.  If you want to succeed in your endeavors, you need a map to get there.  Otherwise, you will get lost and may never reach your destination.  Work on that plan and the results will follow.

Today’s high is going to be 76 degrees and the silver lining is my friend coming over later.  In the midst of my planning and working with dad, it will be a great way to end the day.

To those of you who are working on or following your plans, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  Now that you are aware, you just need to break ground on the planning process.  With a good plan, there will be good results.  I look forward to seeing how it turns out…
