Me & My Muse – Day 437: That’s Not Fare

Actually it is, considering that I did not set up my County Connection ride ahead of time.

Here’s the situation.  My scheduling went haywire because of one overlooked change.  The original plan was that I worked in the morning, and that my brother would take the bus round-trip.  However, that plan fell through, and I ended up having to close.  In still having that plan set up, I forgot to set up a County Connection ride up for today.  These rides need to be set up a day in advance at least, and on Friday if you want a Monday ride.

That leaves me with no way to get to work, or does it?  There is a more expensive option that I’m not too fond of.  Midland Taxi will take me to work, but at five times the price.  You can set up a ride anytime and they’ll pick you up.  Even on the same day.  It doesn’t matter.  What matters is the higher price that you’ll have to pay to get where you want to go.  Bottom line: A higher fare will get you there.

Muse:  Are we talking about fairness today?

No.  That’s for another day.  I’m talking about “fare”, not “fair”.

Muse:  “Fair” enough! You did make sure your schedule for next week was correct, right?

It is.  I had to cancel another appointment due to work, but priorities are priorities.

Muse:  They are.  Work comes first!

And time is of the essence.  Time to get ready!

Muse:  I’ll let you do that.  Time for my last cup!

Time to land this plane.  Today’s high is going to be 69 degrees and the silver lining is being able to get some things done before I leave.

To those of you who have complicated schedules, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  He’s getting there.  If mornings work, I say that he sticks with it…
