Me & My Muse – Day 337: Summer Writing

Having finally earned a day off, I am certainly going to use this day to relax.

If you have read any of my past posts, you might already know what I want to do with my free time.  Today, I plan on making more progress on The Tale of Zachary Willowbrook: The School Years.

Besides that and watching the Nintendo E3 Presentation at Noon, that is all that I plan to do.

Ghost Muse:  You forgot reading your Money Thief Story.

Yes. Of course.  The Money Thief is an unpublished manuscript that I wrote from the Fall of 2001 to the Summer of 2004.  Back in 2001, I was a Junior in high school.  When I finished the story, I was finished with my Freshmen year in college.  As a tradition, I read it at the end of every school year, since the beginning of the story has my two fictional children Mike and Zentroz graduate one of the most prestigious high schools in the world: Jefferson Four-Year Academy.

Ghost Muse:  Zentroz?  That name’s a little weird.

Well, I didn’t name the kid.  My fictional wife Zoria did.  And before you ask, Zoria is from another planet.  And how I met her is in itself another story that I don’t want to spoil.

Ghost Muse:  Speaking of writing, someone wrote you this.

*grabs envelope*

It has my name on the envelope, but no address.  How did you get this?

Ghost Muse:  I was walking by an old house where the Shy Muse lives and I found it.

Well, let’s see what it says…

To Kyle,

Well, I’ve never written a letter before, but there’s a first time for everything, right?

Anyway,  I would like you to come and visit me sometime.  I hope that you understand my situation, but nobody wants to be around me.  And who can blame them?  I am extremely shy and it is hard for me to make new friends.  I really admire you…um…should I say it?

Well, I better go and say it.  Now, I understand that this may sound awkward, but I…I…I love you!  There!  I said it!  After writing it, I don’t know if I can show my face to you.  Yeah, I know that it sounds kind of weird.  A shy Muse like me in love with you?

Now I urge you to come and visit me.  Please don’t run away.  I know that I’ll end up running away from you anyway.  I might do something dumb or embarrassing in front of you.  But it doesn’t hurt to try, right?

I am so lonely as I am writing this.  I don’t even have my stuffed bunny anymore.  Don’t laugh.  He was the only friend that I had, until I brought him to life and he ran away from me!  You see?  Nobody likes me and you probably don’t either.

Well, I don’t know how to end this letter.  I already told you that I am new at writing letters, so I’ll just say this.  Come and visit me soon, okay?  I will tie myself to the ground if that’s what it takes to not run away from you.  (Oh yeah.  I’m a Muse.  I could just make the ropes disappear and run away anyway.  *sigh*  Nevermind…)

Love and kisses (even though I can’t talk to you face to face),

Aw!  I wish that I could visit her!  My issue in doing this is that she’ll drain all my confidence.  Unfortunately, she doesn’t know that’s the reason…

Ghost Muse:  Of course she doesn’t.  She doesn’t even know that the confidence is being drained from her…

Well, it was a nice letter, but there’s not much that I can do.

Ghost Muse:  Maybe you could visit her.  Quickly.  Just to say hi.

I don’t want to discourage her more.  Whatever confidence that I create in her is immediately drained by that void inside her.

Ghost Muse:  You’re right.  I’ll let you work on your story.  Have fun on your day off!

I will!  Just to let you know, my Muse was absent from the past few entries, because those were my busier days…

Ghost Muse:  They were.  I didn’t want to bother you.  I knew that you were busy.

But now, I have a little more time on my hands.  Time to get ready, watch the Nintendo presentation and write more of my story.

Ghost Muse:  Time for breakfast.  See you later, Kyle!

Today’s high is going to be 77 degrees and the silver lining is having the day off to work on my story.

To those of you who love days off, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  *snore* I wish that Kyle could come and visit me… *snore*

*Muse tosses and turns and begins to flash brightly*

Whoa!  What’s going on?  I’m getting sucked into the vortex…

*gets sucked into the vortex leading to the Realm of Imagination*
