Me & My Muse – Day 318: Taking a Breather

As I am typing this,  I feel relaxed and at ease.  While most of you were able to enjoy your Sunday off, today is my opportunity to do that.  While you all work, I will be doing what you did on Sunday – relaxing.

Today is one of those exceptions to the rule, as I most certainly will be working tomorrow.  I will be mowing a lawn and working a three-hour shaker shift.  I will continue searching the job search engines.  All of this resumes tomorrow.

I consider this to be fair enough, as we should all appoint at least one day out of the week to relax and recharge.  For me, this will be a day of rest, a day of prayer and a day of reflection.  I look forward to what this day has to offer.

Dark Muse:  And how are you going to do that inside of her?  Tee hee…

Oh yeah.  I’m stuck inside my Muse.  I forgot about that.  I’ll never get out of her…Wait!  Where’s my director’s privileges?

Dark Muse:  She ate them.  Tee hee!  Now we’ll never get out.  Tee hee…

You’re right.  We’ll never get out.  We’re stuck here forever…

Muse:  We love Rainbow Dash!  Let’s watch some more! Tee hee…

*Muse continues watching TV and holds stuffed bunny tight in one arm, while sucking her thumb*

Ghost Muse:  Kyle!  Remedy is going to send you some dimensional binoculars!  Look inside them.  Okay?

All right.  I don’t know what this will accomplish…

*binoculars appear in my hand*

Ghost Muse:  Now look inside them!

Why should I?  It’s hopeless…

Ghost Muse:  That’s right!  You don’t have any confidence left inside you because she took all of it!  Here!  This should be just enough confidence to look inside the binoculars.

Okay.  Just a peek.  I see both you and Remedy in the real world.  Whoa!

*gets sucked back to the real world, along with the binoculars*

Well, I’m back in the real world.  But how do I get my confidence back?  She took it, along with my director’s privileges…wait!  What’s this?  It must’ve gotten sucked out with me!

Ghost Muse:  It’s the director’s privileges!

I know it is, because I can feel an overwhelming flow of confidence coming out of it.  There.  I have my privileges back!  My first order is to restore my unshakable confidence!

*whole body flashes brightly*

There.  I have just one question.  How did that Muse take my director’s privileges?

Remedy:  I believe that it had to do with that Dark Muse that’s inside her.  You had close contact with her, didn’t you?  With that Dark Muse, that confidence void inside her was able to crack the code, allowing her to eat your director’s privileges.  I mean, didn’t it seem strange that she could make herself invisible and get away, despite your power over her?

That did seem a little off.  I’m starting to think that shy children are more powerful than shy adults.

Remedy:  Exactly.  That’s why the shy Muse has such a strong hold on her.  The void inside her is becoming larger and more powerful as a result.

Ghost Muse:  And that’s why we must get her out.

But how?  Couldn’t you have got her out the same way you did with me?

Remedy:  It’s not that easy.  That Dark Muse that you interacted with is only a clone.  Pretty much like the top of the plant.  But the “roots” are just beneath her and run deep inside her.

That area inside her was pretty dark.

Remedy:  That’s a holding area for the void’s victims.  As you already know, the inside of a Muse is not made up of internal organs, but an entire world…

Bigger on the inside than the outside…

Remedy:  Much bigger on the inside, indeed.

So how do we get to the core?  I’m guessing that she’s in some stronghold, being held captive.  Pretty much like my original Muse from before…

Remedy:  She is, and she could escape it too, if she had the confidence.

And that is why we need the unshakable confidence, right?

Remedy:  Correct.  But we’ll need something more.  She took your director’s privileges and your unshakable confidence, right?  I will need to construct a barrier.  But even with this barrier, you will have to hurry, for she will eventually become powerful enough to break it.

And she is unaware of the damage she’s causing?

Remedy:  Absolutely.  The void hungers for confidence, but never gives any to her.  It just keeps her as a prisoner in her own body.

That means two prisoners, since we can only get one out.  To free the other prisoner, we would have to get rid of the confidence void…

Ghost Muse:  Yes.  Remedy has been working on the barrier.  We need to get her out.  The poor Dark Muse doesn’t know how powerful she is making her…

And the Muse doesn’t know how powerful she has because of the void.  To her, she’s just a social outcast and hopeless…If we don’t hurry, the void will use her to feed on the confidence of the world.  And then, she will continue her feeding frenzy until there’s no confidence left…

Remedy:  The barrier should be ready in about two to three days.  I will call you when I’m finished.

Ghost Muse:  Okay.  Kyle, let’s do something else while he’s working on it, okay?

Okay.  I actually have the day off so I’m going to take it easy.

Ghost Muse:  I will do some reading.  I’ll talk to you later!

I’m glad that I’m finally out of that Muse.  Not having any confidence is the worst thing ever.  With the rest of the day ahead of me, I’m going to enjoy it.  Will there be more progress on my story?  There’s a good chance of that happening.

Today’s high is going to be 66 degrees and the silver lining is having the day off to relax.

To those of you who like having days off, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  We’re starting to get really tired!  Tee hee!  Let’s take a nap.  We like naps!  Tee hee…
