Or a PID. In Toastmasters International, that would stand for Past International Director. In this case, we will go with the abbreviation as I define it: Professional Improvement Day.
Why is this the case? Two events are going on to improve myself as a professional. One of them has already happened and the other one has yet to take place.
The first event was meeting with a contact that was given to me at my Michigan Works meeting that I had on Wednesday. He came to my house and talked about my employment competencies. After talking with him, he set me up with a Job Coach at Kelly Services. Through Kelly, I might be getting a job very soon.
The second event is a Michigan Works meeting at noon. The person that I will be speaking to at this meeting will help me in overcoming my barriers in employment.
Later on, I work at the pizza pit from 4 to 8. I hate this shift, as I would rather work from 2 to 6. By the time that I finally start enjoying myself, it will be about nine o’ clock at night!
Muse: See? I told you! Your next job is closer than you think. Just wait and see….
We’ll just wait and see what happens. For now, I need to have lunch and get ready for this meeting.
Muse: I’ll get another chapter read on my book. Talk to you later!
So that’s today in a nutshell. Event 1 of my Professional Development Day has happened. Event 2 has yet to come.
Today’s high is going to be 34 degrees and the silver lining is being one step closer to full-time employment.
To those of you who are making progress in any kind of endeavor, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.
Muse: Just three more chapters to go and this one will be done. Now for the confrontation! I wonder how this will turn out?
