Me & My Muse – Day 23: Dinner and a Movie

When it comes to the movies, everyone has their own opinion on them.  They either love them or they hate them.  It really depends on the movie that they decide to see.  For all the movies that are fueled by hype, the movie may end up not living up to its standards.  It’s a total bombshell.  A dud.  On the other hand, there are movies that are good, because everyone else said that it was good.  These are the blockbusters, and they are the most fun to see.

Unfortunately, there are not any blockbusters out at the moment, so I’ll have to settle for the second-rate fare in the box office….

Muse:  What cha doing?

Just talking about movies, since I’m thinking of seeing one tonight.

Muse;  Whatever.  Are you going to be mean to me again?  I mean, you always are, right?

Not today.  And I’m sorry about being mean.  You’re just annoying sometimes.

Muse:  Sorry’s not gonna cut it.  But we’ll save that for another day.  Now what movies are we talking about?  I wanna see a movie!

No movie in particular.  I was just talking about movies in general.

Muse:  I like all the animated movies.  Those are my favorite ones to see!

All the G-rated ones.  Am I correct?

Muse:  Yes!  Those ones!  I especially like all the Disney ones.

That’s very specific.  There’s been all kinds of Disney animated movies.  Which one do you like?

Muse:  All of them.  Tee hee!

But you have to pick one.  Which one would it be?

Muse:  I don’t know!  All the princess ones?  I haven’t decided which princess one I like the best….

I like the blockbusters.  Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Titanic, Avatar….Those are the really good ones.

Muse:  I’ve never seen any of them.

Are you serious?  What have you been doing in my head?

Muse:  Watching your ideas, of course!  I can’t just watch a bunch of movies with you when I have my motherly duties to fulfill.

But you do have time to watch a bunch of kid movies….

Muse:  There you go again!  You know that’s being mean to me, right?

Sorry.  I didn’t know that you were that sensitive.  Anyway, I have an idea.  Why don’t you come with me to the movies tonight?

Muse:  A movie?  With me?

Yes.  With you.

Muse:  I sense a spinoff coming from this….

Anyway, will you be able to, or not?

Muse:  Is there going to be dinner?

I wasn’t planning on it.

Muse:  But your title!  It says Dinner and a Movie.  Are we having dinner or not?

There will be dinner.  I’ll let you know what we’re having.  Now, are you coming?

Muse:  I will need to arrange a babysitter, but I think I can come.  What are we seeing?

We’re seeing The Smurfs 2.  You’re with a responsible guardian, so it shouldn’t be any problem…OW!

Muse:  I’m a grown woman, so treat me like one!  Now did you say The Smurfs 2?

Yes.  Is that a problem?

Muse:  Yes.  I haven’t seen the first one!  I gotta go and see it!  Bye!

This will be fun.  I’m sure that she’ll have fun tonight.

For today, it’s going to be rainy.  with a high of 72.  The silver lining?  There are actually two today.  The first one is working more on The Tale of Zachary Willowbrook: The School Years.  The other one will be seeing The Smurfs 2 tonight.

To all of you movie lovers out there, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  La la la la la la!  Sing a happy song!  I love this movie already!
