Me & My Muse – Day 479: Toastmasters Thursday

A quick review of today so far.

I woke at 9 in the morning, greatly benefiting from sleeping in on my day off.  Lucy was feeling very affectionate and wanted me to pet her before I could even eat my breakfast.

I eat breakfast and post on my forums.  I look at the clock.  It was almost noon!  After that, it was off to First Merit Bank to take care of the account transfer for Saginaw Harvey Spaulding.

Following that, I got home.  After recouping there, I drove to McDonald’s to redeem my last game piece: a small mocha frappe.  To reward myself, I buy a king-sized Reese’s Big Cup and a king-sized Mounds candy bar.

Upon getting home, it was lunch time.  Pizza rolls?  Check.  Pack lunch for tomorrow’s morning shift?  Check.  Then this entry…

Muse:  Which is what you’re typing now.

Exactly.  We have come full circle.  Now we are caught up with the present.

Muse:  What about the future?

I was just getting to that.  Tonight (as you saw from the title), it’s a Toastmasters Thursday.  In just two and a half hours, I will be leaving for a Toastmasters meeting.  Someone there will be delivering their findings from working with the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce.  A couple of important dignitaries from the district will be there.

Muse:   I know what it’s like to be in a high position.  This is for his High Performance Leadership Project, right?

Correct.  It should be interesting.

Muse:  I can remember doing one of those.  I had to learn everything on my own. In addition to that, I had to teach everyone what it was.  First to my team of leaders that I was training.  Then to a couple of members in my club.  Setting up an imaginary division wasn’t easy, but I pulled it off.

After the speech, we will hear others.  As club president, I should take some time to review tonight’s agenda.  After the meeting, there will be a speak-a-thon for others to get some more speech credit.

Muse:  There’s also going to be one at the District Conference, right?

Correct.  Now with two hours left, I still have some unfinished business.  I have already recorded my dreams for today and my journal entry for today.  What’s left is reading today’s and tomorrow’s devotionals from Oswald Chamber’s My Utmost for His Highest and Billy Graham’s Hope for Each Day. I also want to listen to some more of my audio Bible on my iPod.  The selection includes today’s and tomorrow’s chapters, which would be the last six chapters of Isaiah and the first chapter of Jeremiah.

Muse:  Better get going on that!  I’m going to work on my costume.  The halo is done.  I just need to work on the wings.  You’ll love it when it’s finished.  I know you will.  Adieu!

You’re going to be an angel again?  That should be a great costume.

It’s time to get going.  After this meeting,  I will watch one YouTube video with my brother and then go to bed.  I have a very early day tomorrow.

Today’s high is going to be 49 degrees and the silver lining is having this day off.

To those of you who love having days off, I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Muse:  This costume is going to be heaven, and even better than last year!  Oh, I can’t wait!
