Me & My Muse – Day 4100B: Downsizing

I stared at my Muses for what seemed like hours.  They were only minutes, but every one felt much longer than that.  They were both still normal, having their hair down.  It was no special style.  Just their normal hair that went halfway down their backs.

Both Muses looked content when they slept, each pleasantly exhaling during their slumber.  They both shared the same smile, like they were having a good dream and were both sharing it at the same time.  That may have been good for them, but I was sitting there, waiting for both of them to change.

Several more minutes passed.  Just when are they going to change?  They have been their normal twin selves for 100 days now.  Prior to this, I existed in a timeline where either Muse was my Muse or Twin Muse was my Muse.  In either timeline, the other Muse was a victim of The Adversary’s evil plots.  With Dark Muse being in the Muse timeline and Midnight Muse being in the Twin Muse timeline.  But this was the true timeline that was originally intended.  A timeline where both Muses existed and underwent various transformation cycles together.  Who then would be the villain?  Would it just be The Adversary striking out on his own?

While I do like their original forms very much, I would very much prefer something different now.  I then thought of all the negative forms that she has been in the past.  Bad Idea Muse, Shy Muse, Evil Muse, Fat Muse, Dark Muse…maybe not that different.  Hopefully, she will change into something good once again.  I would assume that her twin counterpart all shared in these same transformations, as my mind has now gained awareness of the true timeline where the twin Muses always existed together.

“Please,” I pleaded.  “Please change into something good.  Not anything bad.  Please…”

That is what I hoped every time that she transformed.  In most cases, it’s not something bad.  With her baby form, it wasn’t necessarily bad.  Just very stressful and frustrating.  Hopefully, she will be something less stressful, like her Pre-Teen form…

I continued anxiously waiting, until I heard a sudden gasp from both Muses.  Why did they both gasp?

Then I saw it.  While sleeping, the twin Muses began to flash.  First, it was only once.  Seconds later, they flashed twice.  A few seconds later, the twins flashed a few more times.  This was it.  My two Muses were changing their forms once again.

A series of flashes emanated from the twin Muses as their hair style which was down disappeared and their normal hairstyle reappeared: just one thick ponytail.  A flashing banana emerging from their flashing hair.

Both of their bodies flashed while they continued transforming.  Their legs, torso, neck, and face all contracted slightly.  Are they both getting smaller?

And in just the same way the flashing started, it stopped.  Both twin Muses were just their normal, sweet selves.  They were in their normal clothes instead of a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt.  Muse was in a pink dress and white shirt.  Twin Muse was in a purple dress and white shirt.

My Muse then awoke and yawned.  “Kyle…” she yawned, sounding confused.  “What just happened?”

“I’m just as confused, twinnie!” Twin Muse said, giving me a puzzled look.

“You both transformed,” I told the twins.  “Do you know what you turned into?”

My Muse shook her head.  “No…” She glanced at her hands.  “I don’t feel any different.  Did I actually not transform this time?”

Twin Muse shrugged her shoulders.  “I feel…the same.  It’s like nothing happened.”

My Muse nodded.  “I agree!  Are we done with transformations now that we’re together again?”

Twin Muse shook her head.  “No!  Don’t you remember all the transformations that we had together!  I would give it a few days…”

I glanced at my Muse again and again.  “Hmm…” I said, thinking deeply.  “You do look a little different…”

My Muse looked even more confused.  “How?  I don’t feel any different…”

Twin Muse nodded.  “Neither do I!  Just how do we look different?”

I got out a tape measure with my One Privilege.  “Let’s measure you both to make sure.  How tall were you before you transformed?”

“Four foot six,” Both Muses instantly responded in unison.

I lowered the tape measure below what they both told me.  “You are a little shorter.  I have you at four foot four now.”

My Muse gasped.  “Four foot four? You know what that means!”

“What?”

Twin Muse smirked.  “That we’re now both the size of eight-year-olds?”

My Muse shook her head.  “Not exactly.  I was going to say something more along the lines of our transformation.  Are we both going to be three inches shorter for the next 100 days?”

“Or are we just going to keep getting smaller and smaller and smaller?” Twin Muse said, gasping.

I shrugged my shoulders.  “Perhaps,” I told her.  “I don’t know!”

My Muse hugged me.  “Well, I’m fine if we don’t shrink anymore!  We both get to be normal again!”

Twin Muse gave My Muse a look of doubt.  “Well I think that we’re going to be even smaller tomorrow!”

I nodded.  “Maybe.  We’ll just have to find out!”

My Muse glanced at her dress.  “This dress…It’s just the right size!  Hold on.  I need to adjust all my dress sizes!  I’ll be right back!”

Twin Muse looked in amazement at her dress.  “Mine too!  It’s perfect!  But my other dresses need to match my new size.  We’ll both be a hot minute!”

The twin Muses happily skipped out of the room and into the hallway, toward their other bedrooms.

So, this is it?  The twin Muses are just going to be two inches shorter this time?  I guess I can live with that.  It’s nothing out of the ordinary.  With that, I can say this with confidence.  For the second time in a long time, my Muses are both going to be normal for the next 100 days…
